Hey guys, i'm Swifty, here to write my Lux build, which hopefully, maybe becomes very popular to you guys here at Mobafire, i find this build very good, it allows me to get lots of kills, not just assists and if used right, could lead to no deaths! So I hope you don't get bored ha ha and I hope you find my Guide very useful! :D
I chose the make a guide on Lux due to her fantastic burst damage, It's worth something to talk about! Yeah, her spells are amazing, and altogether she is one hell of a good champion, plus she is only 3150, so if your looking to buy Lux read the guide and i will explain why buying her is a good move :)

We go 9/21/0 since Lux is a squishy and the Defense Masteries come in very useful, also the 9 Offensive Masteries are only there to open up the 'Archiac Knowledge' Mastery for the Spell Penetration, helping us all throughout the game. The reason i don't take Utility Masteries is because Lux can do fine without them, and benefits greater from defense.
: We choose this Quintessence, because early game AP is vital for picking up early kills for your Mejai's and for fast completion of you RoA
: Magic Penetration is always useful on any mage, it helps tear down those Squishes and stop those tanks from thinking they are unkillable!
: For the same reason as our Quintessence choice, plus this has the best +AP
- : Lux is quite easy to kill remember? These Runes stop pesky DPS' winning that early game kill
: Flash is a must have in most situations nowadays and is a very popular choice among all players
: Early game, Lux is very mana hungry, since obviously she is a mage, but we dont seem to build mana items until RoA, i take this for sustainability till then, plus it comes in handy mid-late game! :D
: This is another great option since sometime the burst damage leaves their health dwindling, use this to gain the kill
- Illumination: Lux's damaging spells charge the target with energy for 6 seconds. Lux's next attack ignites the energy, dealing 10 + (10 x level) magic damage to the target.
- Light Binding (Q): Lux releases a sphere of light that immobilizes and deals 60 / 110 / 160 / 210 / 260 (+70% of ability power) magic damage to up to two enemy units for 2 seconds, dealing 50% effect and damage to the 2nd unit struck.
- Prismatic Barrier (W): Lux throws her wand to a target location and back, bending the light around herself and any friendly Champions it touches, protecting them from 60 / 85 / 110 / 135 / 160 (+35% of ability power) damage for 3 seconds.
- Lucent Singularity (E): Fires an anomaly of twisted light to an area, which slows nearby enemies by 20 / 24 / 28 / 32 / 36%. Zone lasts 5 seconds. Lux can detonate it to deal 60 / 105 / 150 / 195 / 240 (+60% of ability power) magic damage to enemies in the area of effect.
- Finales Funkeln Finales Funkeln (R): After gathering energy, Lux fires a beam of light that deals 300 / 400 / 500 (+75% of ability power) damage to all targets in the area. It ignites and refreshes Lux's Illumination debuff if it hits enemies already afflicted.
Well obviously you want to level up your Ultimate at any chance you can, we prioritize Light Binding next, so then we can fire it at the enemy champion, then use our ultimate, they should be low on health by now, then we throw a Lucent Singularity to slow them then detonate that, hopefully you have auto-attacked them to claim each Illumination, they should hopefully be dead by now
Lucent Singularity is 3rd to be completely upgraded, since we use this for the slow and farming, it's damage on champions isn't as good as your other 2 damage spell, and since Prismatic Barrier is only used as a defensive spell and it's not a very good one, we upgrade this last!
: Health is very much needed for survivability early game, mana regen helps the hungriness of the champion and extra AP! Yay First Blood :D
: Only take this item if your a confident Lux player and you know you are hard to kill but you get easy kills, if you decide to skip it carry on the build as normal but take a situational item that will be explained about later
: I feel these boots are best on Lux due to the CD, helping you even more on your way to having a Spam-Ult
: Health, very much needed on Lux, Mana is great too, plus the AP doesn't go a miss!
: We take this item as early as possible to maximize early game damage output, this item will greatly increase your AP, this is a must have on Lux
: Another must have! Absolutely amazing synergy with her Passive, with all that AP + Illumination and Lich Bane after you use that Finales Funkeln and they are running away an about 400 health, you say too yourself, damn they are getting away, i cant kill them! With Lich Bane you will be taking off upto 900!
- : Tanks beware, you are now a killing machines but those tanks have built up too much AP and you can break through it, what's my solution? Void Staff! +40% Magic Penetration will render those squishes already dead once you are in their sight and tanks, haha they wont be so brave when they face you again! ;)
: In case you think that CD is useless, here is some Magic Penetration while your waiting to get your Void Staff (Buy instead of
: In case your feeling more hungry for mana and that the mana from RoA isn't enough i would go ahead and buy this, but beware the AP takes a while to add up so it's not my cup of tea! (Buy instead of
: I never mentioned this in my Build since the build is an aggressive one, but if you feel your being killed by an AD Heavy team, this is what you definatley need. (Buy instead of
- : Like Zhonya's Hourglass but just incase the team is AP Heavy, also the Mag Penetration make up for the loss of the Void Staff if you exchange them. (Buy instead of or )
In early game Lux should go solo mid, and focus on farming, if you feel the enemy is pushing too close, throw a Light Binding, then a Lucent Singularity then detonate, and they should back off. If you happen to be on low health and they chase you too the turret to tower dive, throw a Light Binding so they are snared in front of the turret, they if they are Melee feel free to ignite your Illumination and send in some auto-attacks and watch your kills go up! Farming is vital at this stage, for the expensive build ahead, but if you have to lane either bot or top, if there is a jungler take solo top, if not try to lane with someone who can either snare, stun or taunt, so they you can mash your spells on their face, but still remember to farm
At this stage you should have finished your Rod of Ages, and be starting to gain power with your Rabadon's Deathcap, if you took Mejai's Soulstealer, you should have at least a few stacks on the item and have a good amount of AP. In this stage of the game teamfights start to appear so remember, throw a Lucent Singularity to slow them and your team can catch up, this should make squishes very vulnerable and maybe pick you up 1 stack from an assist. Next throw a Light Binding, just be careful about minions as they will mess the skillshot off and you will end up snaring minions not champions!If you catch some champions, use your Finales FunkelnFinales Funkeln, to deal massive damage as well as igniting the Illumination Passive
If the game carries on for this long, you should be nearly finishing your build, remember to still play safe because they will be near the end of their builds too and they will also be dealing massive damage, remember the order of spell usage, Q to snare them, R to deal that huge damage, then E to slow them, so you can catch up and take off a huge chunk with the Lich Bane, yup gotta remember to ignite that Illumination once you have the Lich Bane, since it will deal amazing damage! If you know that you cant get the kill use your Prismatic Barrier on the champion attacking and going to get the kill and you will gain an assist, great for if you find maintaining your stacks hard, since you can stay back and use this spell, and watch your stacks go up! :D
Basically as you can see Lux has absolutely amazing burst damage, she is a great carry and can take down squishes with ease, but a Lux player shouldn't get carried away, she is squishy too, so stay behind the tank and just throw in your spells, this could land a kill or an assist, remember, don't be afraid to use your ultimate, fire it at the enemies ahead, you have low CD, your teammates can then catch up and fight with a bunch of low health champions and gain some easy kills!
