Oh and since the warmog nerf i prefer the frozen malet even if it's more expensive ...it gives better dmg and the slow makes garen a monster even if ur ghost on cd.

Thank you for creating this guide. I finally got a handle on Garen and started looking for various builds. This is the first one I used and it really helped. My CS went up (still low, but much better) and I was able to stay in lane a lot longer. And I didn't have to waste time trying to figure out what to get. The starting items make a huge difference.

Yoo, so a while ago, you requested a review from my guide review shop. Sorry for the wait - i've been busy lately and have not had time to review guides during my free time. Here are the notes that i had for your guide. Please note that the grade i gave you at the bottom does not necessarily reflect the actual quality of your guide, but should instead be used as a guideline for you to evaluate the relative importance of the points that i bring up for your guide.

Hi KINGPUDDING here to review your guide... SO lets get down to business.

Good

Lots of facts and very well explained.

How to improve

You mention earlier in your pro's and con's he is easily kited. Yet you don't explain what kiting means. For a new player they would have no idea what your talking about. Also giving an example of good kiting characters that make Garen cry IE Teemo.

Secondly add a section on counters or lane matchups as this will help improve your guide.

Thank You For Visiting Our Review Service!

Positives

  • Visually the guide looks great
  • As a Garen player myself, I can say the item build is quite good
  • Good explanations to why you do/take things

Negatives or Possible Improvements

  • Ummmm sorry but I can't go for maxing Decisive Strike first, Judgment is by far your best damage source, and it falls off in damage somewhat quickly and if you max second it will be deteriorating by the time its max rank
  • Add A Lane Match-Ups section
  • As mentioned by others, Flash is slightly better than Ghost, but its not a huge deal

Other Thoughts

This is a great guide, for certain its deserving of a spot in the top three. HOWEVER, you need to change maxing Decisive Strike first; I can see what your thinking is, but its kinda wrong. I mean think about it, Judgment does waaaaay more damage, and it is meant to absolutely shred stuff early game but starts to fall off mid-late. If you max it at level 12, its already starting to fall off before you even got to use it properly. That is my only real complaint though, other than that its just an awesome guide, job very well done!

Ghost and Flash are situational actually. Ghost is almost always better if you're going tanky, Flash is almost always better if you're not.

Anyways onto the guide. First thing I notice is your items.

TBC is a fine item, even good on Garen. However, Ghostblade is even better. You should put that somewhere in your guide, also TBC is more for tanky Garen while Ghostblade is more useful for tanky deeps Garen, but Ghostblade is just more useful in general.

Second, Spirit Visage plain isn't that great unless you're against a bunch of AP, and Bulwark is arguably better for that purpose. Second, IE should probably never be situational, if you're that fed just buy a Warmogs. Atma's sucks, don't ever buy it, it's plain not worth it. Seriously, it sucks. If it gets buffed -maybe- but it's pretty terrible right now. LW is always core, because it shreds so much armor it's not even funny, and with the changes to arpen it's pretty much never a bad choice even if the enemy is not building any armor at all. Now also, x2 rejuv beads suck ****, terrible start. 9 pots 2 wards is always always better. Rejuv bead is a pretty **** item right now, and you're not building Philo stone so that makes it even more worthless. By the time you get Warmogs those 2 beads will not have helped towards the cost at all and are just taking up inventory space. Also starting with them is useless since it literally takes 1 minion wave clear to get that much money lol.

I would review more, but I'm kind of afraid of what I'll find, I just read your first couple sentences and I was like -facepalm- so yeah :P

edit:

actually I can't possibly let you get away with maxing Q first and not taking Arpen Quints. -shakes fist-

Flash>Ghost on garen, you got the Q for MS.

i don't play much garen but i think there are just "better" guides out there so why bother writing one yourself when you obviously don't know much bout the game?

Also why do you say "for normal games" it's not like you enter a different game when you click the ranked button, you're still playing lol so what is optimal is pretty standard.
