Malphite, He's moving as fast as he can!


Disclaimer: This is a Malphite guide completely created on how I Dremu play the champion, it is not meant to be better than everyones guides, Nor is it supposed to be a spam guide, Please take this seriously and insert feedback, Greatly appreciated.

Malphite is a big tanking beast, He's the Hulk of LoL, Only cooler. Malphite has got to be one of my favorite champions, Although his passive can be kind of cheap in early game, It's a great passive ability for such a beastly rock.

Malphite is great for escaping, or catching up with his skills, Seismic Shard is great for catching up or escaping just like as is good for both as well. And both damage the enemy a good amount.

Pros/Cons



Pros:
1. Very Healthy!
2. He's a rock
3. Great passive
4. Long life
5. Great escape
6. Easily carry
7. Good damage deal
8. Nearly unstoppable early game

Cons:
1. Mana Dependent/Drain
2. Slow beginning
3. Easily harassed
4. Slow attack
5. CC Vulnerable

Weaknesses:
Singed.
Dr.Mundo.

I fixed some spelling issues and added a few things, Also I shortened the item list to only the primary choices, The situational items are still listed. I also switched Vladimir from OKAY teammates to GOOD teammates for obvious reasons.

Items/Situational Items

Items and Why

Ruby Crystal is chosen first for the extra health, This makes you very resistant early game for your passive ability Granite Shield.

Mercury's Treads is overall good boots for Malphite to obtain, He will be less able to be cced, and of course faster, But also adding 25+ to your magic resistance.

Sunfire Cape is great as well for Malphite and will be obtained 3rd on the list, It increases health by 450+ and armor by 45+ Not only that but it deals magic damage to nearby enemies.

Randuin's Omen is a great item overall for Malphite and should be obtained 4th on the list for it's 300+ health, 80+ armor and 25+ hp5. It also gives the following PASSIVE UNIQUE - 8% Cooldown Reduction and 20% chance on being hit to slow the attacker's movement and attack speed by 35% for 3 seconds. and ACTIVE UNIQUE - Slows movement speed and attack speed of surrounding units by 35% for 2 second + 0.5 seconds for each 100 Armor and Magic Resist. 60 second cooldown.

Banshee's Veil is the final completely needed item for Malphite, it increases your health and mana by 375+ each and gives 50% magic resist it also blocks one magical spell every 30 seconds, Which is great when dealing with a spell caster making it easy to last longer.

Situational Items



The optional items which you can choose from next are completely situation dependant.

Warmog's Armor statistics are +920 Health, +30 Health Regen/5 sec. Also adding PASSIVE Permanently gain 4.5 health and .15 health regen per 5 sec per minion kill. Champion kills and assists grant 45 health and 1.5 health Regen per 5 sec. Bonuses cap at +450 health, and +15 health Regen per 5. This makes Malphite the maximum Health tank.

Frozen mallet's statistics are +700 Health +20 Attack Damage, This gives Malphite his damage needed plus health, The damage is a secondary thing best used for when fighting other health dependant characters. Also it gives you PASSIVE UNIQUE - Physical attacks slow enemy's movement speed by 40% for 2.5 seconds. (30% for ranged attacks) Which is great for catching up along with Malphite's other abilities.

Force of Nature's statistics are +76 Magic Resistance +40 HP Regen/5 sec. +8% Movement Speed , This one is great for when dealing with enemy spellcasters along with banshee's veil your almost unstoppable against casters. This also gives PASSIVE UNIQUE - Restores 0.35% of your champions maximum health every second. Which makes you good for standing back with low health to regen faster.

These are you final item choices after you've obtained all the others, It is necessary to choose atleast one of these items over all other choices, They are all optional however, So it doesn't matter which you choose as long as it's best for the situation your team stands in.

Skill Sequence

Granite shield is Malphite's passive ability, This gives you a shield that absorbs damage equal to 10% of your life, Which means you take 0 damage until the shield breaks, You can absorb any skill from enemies as long as that skills level 1 early game. If it breaks just step back for 8 seconds and it regenerates.

Seismic Shard is a great skill, It leeches movement speed from your enemy giving it to you, Making you faster, and dealing damage, This is great for escaping or chasing your enemy, Also very good to finish them off.

Brutal Strikes gives you a cleaving passive attack, When activated it gives you increased damage and armor, This is very good for fighting and saving yourself, I can't tell you how many times it's given me kills or saved me.

Ground Slam is your AoE skill, It deals powerful damage to an area, This is great when fighting multiple champions or just killing off minions, It's best used when in combination with Unstoppable Force.

Unstoppable Force is Malphites ultimate skill, It knocks the enemy in the air, Basically a stun, and does a massive amount of damage, This used with combination of your other skills, Truly makes you an unstoppable force.

A breakdown of a skill rotation is below.
R,E,W,Q,E,Q (Something like that or mix it up, As long as is used upon hit).

Summoner Spells and Why



Clarity is best used for malphite ALWAYS, He is very mana dependant which means his mana will deplete rather quickly, Clarity is amazing for bringing his mana back up to par. It'll save you a lot of times.

Flash is chosen for any other reason than just running or catching up, Malphite has a lot of skills allowing him to catch up or run, This is another skill he can use that will make him just 10 times better at it.

Alternatives:
Ghost is an alternative to Flash you can use for catching up and running.
Another alternative is Ignite, If enemies begin to escape just pop it up.
Heal is great for tanking multiple champions to keep you up longer and your allies.
Exhaust is best for getting up to the enemy quicker to finish them off. Or escape.

^^These are all alternatives for FLASH only, Clarity is a must always!^^

Team Work

Malphite is great for carrying the team, But if you don't want to be the hero of the day and carry your team to victory...well that'll be somewhat hard depending on your team.

Say your Malphite, your team consists of Tryndamere and Sona. Tryndamere may end up helping you carry which brings a two player carry to the team making the game end most likely fast, Plus you have Sona on your team throwing out heals to you both making you last a lot longer, Now let's add a Singed in the mix, He can throw down his slows to slow the enemy down then letting you intervene within them to get the enemy down, So Singed throws the enemy behind him into poison damaging more and you finish him off.

These teams are great for ranked play and regular play, 3v3 arranged team choices could be within the boundaries of those listed above or even a different combination, 5v5 choices could be the same plus Anivia could add on to the damage, Having a mage with you is best for any situation especially because of her passive ability making her hard to kill.

Basically, Your going to want a team that works together, If your teammate is in trouble rush to the rescue and have another teammate come too, incase more enemies join into the fight, 8/10 times you will be the survivor in this situation unless you also have a tryndamere amidst.

Ranked Play

So your level 30 and wanna play ranked matches with your Malphite?

Well here's a few suggestions on teams to play with while having your Malphite.

Good Teammates:
Great for damaging the enemies with her boomerang shot, and her ulti buff.
Singed is great for slowing and throwbacks.
Another great ally, He can help out with the tanking and damaging.
He is great for keeping up with your enemy to help you get them down fast.
Jax is awesome for triple kills when used right.
Good for endgame ganking, He can one shot some characters with his ulti.
Long lasting anivia, Also doing great damage, good for slowing your enemies.
Also good for slowing the enemy plus her stun ulti.
Very good for support and her ulti finishes them easily.
Awesome for staying up and helping you out in tight situations.
He is very good for helping you take out the enemy quickly.
Vladimir is great in any situation, Good teammate, if good player.

Bad teammates:
I still don't understand his use, I think he's just bad.
Somewhat good char, But his skills screw you over.
Two health stackers couldbe okay, But I wouldn't suggest it.
Is actually said to be one of the worst chars. I disagree, but still not good with you.

Okay Teammates:
He can be good with exp+ but sometimes a good kser.
She can be good when used correctly, Great for slowing enemies.
Basically only good for his silence with you.
Good for a ranged damage dealer.
He's good to help you out with the enemies.
Great support, Would somewhat suggest her, But squishy.
Great dpser to help you out, Though she can be a kser.

ANY UNLISTED CHARACTERS ARE JUST WHATEVER YOU DECIDE, THESE ARE SOME SUGGESTIONS IS ALL.

If you want to rack up your wins, Let your team get the first blood, while helping them out to get it, Unless you get the first blood, Start harassing enemies for a chance to finish them off finally so you can get your carry going, Your team should be consisted of good players if you took some suggestions. This would make your team the maximum death machine. Which you will use to end the enemy team.

Conclusion

If you have followed this guide completely, Or used some of your own methods, You may be winning a lot, Or losing depending on how good you are at following, Or depending on your enemies team. If they have a Singed you may be in trouble, Or a Dr. Mundo as well. They are both your weakness for various reasons, But that doesn't make them impossible to kill, So just be confident and use a strategy to defeat them, Like for Singed just avoid following right behind him, If he throws you back run the opposite direction until HE is following you, That's when you take him out, Don't let either of these characters to be fed though, or you may be in BIG trouble.
