Introduction

Hello Nocturne fans!
I have already played some matches as Nocturne and for me this build is the most effective way to play it. I normally go out of a match with stats like 10/3/14 and so on. Means less deaths and high kill/assist count.

This build is focused on offensive laning. I do not like jungling because I think Nocturne is much more effective on lane. As I mostly play with friends I go with Sivir/Ashe or any Champion with CC. Sivir/Ashe because of the high range and CC for fast kills in early game.

Please note that I play Nocturne very offensive. Means in early game we push the enemies behind their turret or at least directly in front of it. As Nocturne you can very fast kill the minions and Sivir/Ash can attack the enemies with their great range. So they are not able to escape except the leave their turret.

Hope you enjoy reading my build and leave a comment.

Thanks.

Runes

Greater Mark of DesolationGreater Mark of Desolation: For good armor pen. in the early game and quite good also in the mid-late game.

Greater Seal of Evasion: In my opinion it is important to have doge runes as melee. I feel like they often proc especially in the early game.

Greater Glyph of Alacrity: Also a good rune for early game and also mid-late game. Faster attack speed = higher DPS. And that is what I am focused on.

Greater Quintessence of DesolationGreater Quintessence of Desolation: For even more armor pen.

Masteries

I go with 21/0/9 for attack speed, damage and crit under offense, and better exp and longer buff duration from utillity. I also spend points into improved Exhaust and Ghost as I am always using them with Nocturne.

Skill Sequence

R - Q - E - W

As for any Champion R is always leveled if possible. Q is maxed first because it is my main attack. Then I go for E because of the CC (fear) and also good damage over time. I do not put much points into W in the early - mid game because I am doing better maxing the other Skills first.

Summoner Spells

Exhaust for CC, damage reduction and slowing the enemy. Combined with Duskbringer there is almost no escape for your enemy.

Ghost for early game escape. Later in the match I have about 420 Movement Speed. So I rather use it in late game.

Items

As I said I am focused on offensive laning. So I use Items that give me attack damage, attack speed and crit.

I always start with Long Sword for additional attack damage in the early ganme. Also I buy a Health Potion to make sure I can stay long enough in lane for the next items.
Normally I go back shopping when I can afford Berserker's Greaves. After that item I go for The Brutalizer because it is quite cheap and gives additional power we need for the early game offensive. Also its passive is great IMO.
As I have now already gained some attack damage I now go for Zeal. It provides everything we need at this point of a match. Attack speed, crit and Movement Speed. Next item is Phantom Dancer. Great assassin item IMO.
Now the first big item will be The Bloodthirster. It is a great snwoball item for melees. As I said in the Introduction, I will not die often. So mostly I can keep the stacks up during the match.

Now at this point of a match I have to decided if I first take Warmog's Armor or go straight forward to Infinity Edge to boost my damage output. It is also your own decision. If you think you will need more Hp then go for Warmog's Armor first.

The last Item is Youmuu's Ghostblade as an upgrade of The Brutalizer. Now we are done.

*** OPTIONAL ITEMS ***

Sometimes I take Banshee's Veil instead of Warmog's Armor if I have got problems with casters during the match.

And if the enemy team is stacking armor I go for The Black Cleaver with. It is match depending which item you exchange it for.

Summary

I usually take top or bot lane. I put preasure on the enemies directly from the beginning of the match. I go straight forward to max attack damage, attack speed and crit. Only buy armor items if you really need them. After level 6 start ganking the other lanes together with your mates. I think Nocturne is the perfect ganker.
In the late game group up with your mates and focus squishy targets first, as you are able to kill them within a few seconds. Do not jump into 3 or more enemies. You have got tanks for initiating team fights.
