Introduction

Pantheon is a champion that can harass lane opponent well with his Q. He is good in ganking, as he is able to stun opponent, denying them from escaping or doing any damage on friendly. Most importantly, Pantheon is everywhere, he is able to use his ulti to jump into a fight as long as it is withing the radius of his ulti.

Runes

Greater Quintessence of Desolation - Greater Quintessence of Desolation
Greater Mark of Desolation - Greater Mark of Desolation
Greater Quintessence of Desolation & Greater Mark of Desolation is the most important runes to get, as it give you a great amount of armour penetration. With your first item, - Last Whisper, You will enjoy a great amount of armour penetration benefit over your opponent

- Greater Seal of Resilience
The most basic defensive rune to get, it give you a reasonable amount of armour throughout the entire game, 13 Armour.

- Greater Glyph of Shielding
The reason why I get Greater Glyph of Shielding instead of - Greater Glyph of Warding, is because, early game opponent will have a relatively low amount of ability power, therefore with flat magic resistance will minimise the bonus magic resistance you are able to have in late game.

Masteries

Offensive: 21
Pantheon needs to do lots of damage for the team throughout the entire game, therefore I recommend putting 21 skill points to offensive. Most of them I choose those that can either increase armour penetration, or increase attack damage.

Utility: 9
- Good Hands
It is a must to get this, as during the late game, the time spent death will be around 1 minute = 60 seconds. Thus it reduces it to 54 seconds instead. this will definitely make a huge different in a close game fight.

Items

OffTank Pantheon Against AD Team

Starting Item

The reason for getting this is because you and your enemy will be exchanging mostly basic attack. Long Sword will help to increase your basic attack especially - SPEAR SHOT. SPEAR SHOT can be use to counter range champion thus you wont be at disadvantage. Its is better than - Doran's Blade because you wont be able to life steal much in early game since you are not range, it is better to get 150 Hp regen from .

Boots

- Berserker's Greaves
It gives you attack speed, 25 Attack Speed, which is the only item in this build that provide you that.
This boot is recommended if only your team is doing relatively well, at least 2 lanes are winning - more kills, farms. Furthermore, it also depends on how well your lane opponent is.

- Ninja Tabi
This gives you extra armour, 25 Armour. It is recommended if your opponent is dealing lots of physical damage, crippling you from farming.

- Mercury's Treads
This item gives you magic resistance, 25 Magic Resistance. It is recommended if your opponent is dealing lots of magic damage. In addition, it provides you with 35 Tenacity, giving you a chance to escape from a gank.

- The Brutalizer
This item is recommended to immediately built after Last Whisper or Berserker's Greaves. DO NOT upgrade it to - Youmuu's Ghostblade immediately after getting it, it will slow you down in farming your Infinity Edge and The Bloodthirster. The combination of The Brutalizer and Last Whisper will gives you lots of damage in gank or solo fight in this stage of game.

- Giant's Belt
Getting this early, to ensure your survivability, it will be built into Warmog's Armor in the later part of the game.

- Infinity Edge
This is a good item to get considering the passive, +50% Critical Strike Damage. Don't underestimate this, its alot. Furthermore - Heartseeker Strike's passive allows Pantheon to gain 100% critical strike chance against opponent below 15% of their max Health, thus allow him to strike painful critical strike and ensure a kill. It is prefer to build before Wargmog's Armor, as Pantheon need to do more damage. In situation that you are dying easily, get Warmog's Armor first.

- Warmog's Armor
It is a defensive item I recommend for pantheon, as right after it enter a fight with his Ulti, he will immediately unleash his combo and cut down the opponent. It is almost impossible to break Pantheon's combo unless the opponent is really super fast to react. However others will start aiming you instead, thus it ensure you to stay in a gank as long as possible. Most importantly, Pantheon needs to do lots of damage in the shortest time, even if he dies, his friendly team can easily clear the rest of the opponents.

- Atma's Impaler
This item works well with Warmog's Armor a must get item if you choose to get Warmog's Armor. Either build it before or after Last Whisper depending on your situation.

- Last Whisper
This item will send your opponent fleeing in fear. It is best to get in mid - late game, when opponent are building up their defence.

- Youmuu's Ghostblade
It is not as important as the rest, just to upgrade your The Brutalizer.

Philosopher's Stone - Philosopher's Stone
Get this only if you always run out of mana. Do not upgrade this item further, just sell it when you need the slot.

OffTank Pantheon Against AP Team

Starting Item

The reason for this build is because it allows you to hold 3 icon=Health Potion size=40] - Health Potion
When playing against strong AP team, you will face tons of harassment with spells. You will be easily push out of the lane by your opponent as your HP keep getting lower. - Boots of Speed will be the best choice since it is cheap and give you additional speed to escape from enemy.

Catalyst the Protector - Catalyst the Protector
This item is rushed at the start of the game as it gives you Health and Mana. The important part is it gives you restore 250 Health and 200 Mana. A good Early game item to get as you will be levelling relatively often, and you don't need to recall back so often.

Mercury's Threads - Mercury's Threads
This is the only boot I will recommend to get against AP team. 35 Tenacity is important to escape from enermy Spell duration, and further more it gives magic resistance.

- The Brutalizer
This is a cheap offensive item, a must get for Pantheon.

- Banshee's Veil
This must be rushed as soon as possible. Its unique passive gives you the ability to block one negative spell every 45 Seconds. It prevent you from getting Stun/slow by enermy before you can attack them. It also helps to prevent you from being taken down right after you ulti into a fight.

- Youmuu's Ghostblade
Unlike the build against AD team, Youmuu's Ghostblade is buide relatively early. This is because enermy will consistently keep casting spell on you, thus to neutralise them, you get Youmuu's Ghostblade to increase your cooldown reduction, thus you are able to harass them back with you spear.

- QuickSilver Sash
This item has an unique active which allows you to remove all debuffs from your champion. The reason why this is a recommended item is because the opponent face will mostly be able to stun/slow/silence/fear. All this spell will cause you to be destroy by the enermy guarantee. Thus activating QuickSilver Sash in such situation can cause a turnover.

- The Bloodthirster
After the recent update, this item is being nerf. However it is still a reliable item to get for Pantheon. It still gives a high life steal rate and damage when it's bonus is max.

- Last Whisper
This item can be get even earlier, if you are not dying easily. Especially when enermy start to get armor item. With your masteries and runes, the amount of armor penetration is ALOT.

All these Items are good, the best combination will be dependent on your choice, style and you skills. There isn't any really good build that is suitable for everyone, But hopefully this guide can become a platform for you to create your own ultimate build.

Lets Compare the statistic of these two build:

( 1 )
Health
Hit Points: 3274
Health regen per 5 sec: 28.5

Mana
Mana: 1077
Mana regen per 5 sec: 11.6

Damage
Attack Damage: 363
Attack Speed: 1.5
Critical Chance: 58%
Critical Damage: 260%
Armor Penetration: 51|50%
Lifesteal: 0

Abilities
Cooldown Reduction: 15%

Defence
Armor: 145
Magic Resist: 72

Considering the Atma's Impaler and and Infinity Edge Passive, The Average Basic Attack Damage = 653
Calculation:
Critical Chance = 58% ( around every 2 strikes, 1 will be critical strike )
[363(260%)+363]/2 = 653

( 2 )
Health
Hit Points: 3974
Health regen per 5 sec: 28.5

Mana
Mana: 1077
Mana regen per 5 sec: 11.6

Damage
Attack Damage: 377
Attack Speed: 1.5
Critical Chance: 33%
Critical Damage: 210%
Armor Penetration: 51|10%
Lifesteal: 12%

Abilities
Cooldown Reduction: 15%

Defence
Armor: 145
Magic Resist: 72

Considering the Atma's Impaler and Last Whisper Passive, The Average Basic Attack Damage = 512
Calculation:
[377(210%)+377+377]/3 = 512

Conclusion:
( 1 ) is a better build if you like to play offensively but it is less tanky. However this wont be a problem. To me Pantheon is very flexible throughout the game, you can change to a more tanky build in mid game to suit the whole flow of the game when you need to. Pantheon will still beable to adapt to the game well and still do incredible much amount of damage.
( 2 ) Gives you more defensive ability due to its high HP level. It gives you 141 damage but it gives you much more survivability. Lastly it also provides slow on you opponent whom you attacks, good against those who got high agility champions.

It is still up to you to choose which build you prefer and works better than you. Do try them out and give me comments. Thanks alot.

Summoner Spells

- Exhaust
This can be use on opponent who tries to escape right after you ulti in.

- Flash
This is used to escape opponent gank or chase, also it is great in catching other opponent who flash out of your ulti. Simply, ulti in, flash towards your opponent and use W to stun him immediately.

Tip

- Always up - SPEAR SHOT(Q) first when laning.
- Up - AEGIS OF ZEONIA(W) first if your team plan to steal opponent blue, or early gank.
- Always use you - SPEAR SHOT(Q) to harass back opponent when they use basic range attack or spell
- Save a minimum amount of Mana for - AEGIS OF ZEONIA(W) at all time, to escape when being attack by gank, or opponent choose to tower dive

- Use your Ulti wisely, signal for engagement when your ulti cd finishes

- Never fight alone with carry(considering it not underlvl) , its just too painful for pantheon
- Always carry 3 - Health Potion , it will keep you in lane or save you from gank
- Getting blue is important, since you will be thirsty for Mana as you will be using your - SPEAR SHOT(Q) often. But always think about whom in your team will need the blue buff most.

- Always REMEMBER Ward potential route for enermy's jungler to gank you when laning
- Last hit with your - SPEAR SHOT(Q) if opponent is pushing you our of the minion wave, its best to call for gank to weaken your opponent/ to let them reconsider whether to push further in, since they may be afraid of being gank again
- Watch your teammate especially jungler when you have acquire lvl 6 with - GRAND SKYFALL added. Use it when a teammate close by is trying to escape from opponent by placing in the path infront of your teammate

Do comment on further tips you know for pantheon, so i can add to this section. Thanks.

Summary

Lastly, Pantheon cannot be mastered overnight. Honestly, I haven't master him yet. I just like this champion so much that I wanted to create a guide, introduce to everyone how wonderful this champion is. I will add another item build for against AP damage team. Pantheon is good for solo top lane. I see a guy jungle with him, clearing the jungle in 4min.

I accept critics in the comments. Hope you have a nice day loling.

Note from the creator of the guide:
This guide is mainly suitable for those who want to be less squishy throughout the game. Definately Off Tank Pantheon is not the best choice, it greatly minimise Pantheon massive damaging ability throughout the game.
This type of build is mostly suitable if you are playing with pubs. As you may not know your teammate skill, you cant really much rely on them. It is a safer build.
It will be best if you are fighting with a team you know well, and all of them know their role well, then you should build a purely offensive build to greatly cripple the enermy team, with you teammate knowing your importance and supporting you all the way allowing you to cut them down without worrying of dying.
