Champion Build Guide

One Axe, One Kill

By DesuSukopion
Off-Meta Darius?
Let me start this by saying that this is absolutely hilarious to play and considering Darius' 200 Years, he follows the same logic as Garen: You can build literally anything you want and it will still work for whatever reason.

This build more than punishes Any naughty AD Carry that tries to go against you, making them regret ever locking in one of those squishy, lunch material dishes haunting the Bottom Lane. Wherein it does not have enough oomph to destroy a Tank unless you've more than managed to gain enough Stacks of Dark Harvest to make up for the damage you will not be doing.
About Me
If you're reading this, it means you're wondering who in tarnation is this "DesuSukopion" Fella, and I am just someone who hates the Meta-Because it is incredibly dumb to rely on nothing but ONE THING that is supposed to be "Optimal" or "How you should play it" when there are alternatives that make the game more fun. Flexibility and Adaptability beats the meta any day of the week-Which is why I spend a lot of time thinking of clever ways to play League's Champions in a creative way.

(You can also thank RossBoomSocks and Deep League for enlightening me about the "Mathematically Correct" Builds which were made for fun and to actually push a Champion to their limit to perform far better than their "Meta" counterparts. Under every aspect.)
Match Start
You definitely want to play somewhat safe until you've reached level 3-4 and brought your Crippling Strike to a point where you can feel comfortable facing anything you've got in your lane. Of course, since it's the early game... Be mindful of ganks-play even safer if you're up against an incredibly annoying Jungler that can jump on you out of literally nowere. (I.E. Evelynn, Shaco, etcetera. Even that Parkouring Punk of Talon if you're against one.) Starting with Doran's Shield is never a bad idea, you're gonna need some extra defense at the beginning. But as soon as you can manage to, you want to rush that Noonquiver and get a pair of Boots.

Do not take any risk and do not skip them, PERIOD.

Once you've finally amassed enough Gold for it, complete your nice and spicy Immortal Shieldbow. Why? Because Immortal Shieldbow grants additional Attack Damage AND Hit Points with every Legendary Item you have built. This is the MAIN reason you actually do want this Item-And the additional Attack Damage if anyone manages to trigger your Bloodward for some reason. (Or however that passive is called. I can't remember for the life of me as I use it far too few times to really memorise it.)
Mid Game
Usually, once the 15-minute Mark strikes, you're most likely preparing your second purchase or completing your boots-Either or. There's no real priority when it comes to Boots as you will eventually sell them off for Muramana. However, right now, you need them to keep yourself somewhat speedy so you can snowball even harder later down the line. You can't afford to stop CSing--Not one bit. And slowing down means you'll miss more than enough creeps to justify falling behind. Now, do look at the enemy composition and ask yourself wheter you're going to be needing an even bigger Oomph to your damage, or some degree of survivability against pesky ADCs the likes of Vayne, Kai'Sa and even Tristana to name a few that could blast you to smithereens at this point in time. If the name of the game is "Busting Down a Tank" you need to start building Lord Dominik's Regards immediately. You're not relying on Noxian Guillotine here, you're aiming for a safe One-Hit One Kill build here. If there isn't much to pierce through, your Apprehend will yield more than enough Penetration to make it count. Start building into Bloodthirster to prevent yourself being caught on low HP while farming or doing other things on your own. Your teammates might not always be there for you nor might they be able to contribute much at all times-Rely on your damage. Crippling Strike is the name of the game: Any time you see easy prey that can be dealt with quickly, have no mercy. Hit them with it and should they survive, Ult them.

Since I can't predict how your game will go, once Mid Game strikes you should consider Roaming-Especially so if you're winning. Doubly so if your advantage is massive over the enemy laner. However, avoid confronting overly-fed Champions at this point. Your 200 Years aren't going to shine just yet. Once you've completed Bloodthirster, it's time to build the cheapest Item you can ever think of: The Collector. With the amount of Attack Damage you'll be building, this Item will net you a few kills on fleeing foes thanks to Hemorrhage... And how busted that thing happens to be as it scales with your own Attack Damage. (... Right?)

Don't forget to bust down some Towers for that juicy Gold income. You're not done farming. Not by a long shot. You should aim for about 120-150 Creeps before the End Game dawns.
End Game - 200 Years Unleashed
If you've followed every single advice I've given, then you might be sitting on a new, fresh Essence Reaver right about now. And now, you should be ready.

From now on, Whenever you press W, Spellblade is going to add a massive number on top of your usual damage. This is what you want to achieve the One-Hitting Stadium of Darius, the 200-Year Hand of Riot Games. You should be hitting nearly as hard as any ADC in the game-Maybe even harder than Veigar at this point, considering he's one of the best Lategame One-Hit wonders. Do not be afraid to take fights now, try to push Darius to his Limits-Since he can easily 1v5 entire teams and his cooldowns are all about disappearing on Kills, meaning you should absolutely concentrate on killing off the weaker targets. This is where you snowball your entire, massive Attack Damage into everyone's face-Because you should be sitting rather comfortably on roughly 350 to 400 Attack Damage right about now. And this is not factoring in any Drake or Runes-Like Gathering Storm which you should have-and it is time for you to go wild. If you haven't been gathering stacks of Dark Harvest, this might be your best opportunity. The rune resets its cooldown on Takedowns, and there's no time like the present to do it to make up for a failure of an Early Game. If any.

(Also you're playing Darius, so at this point you really don't need any more fancy strats but if your team is willing to back you up, just try to get funneled somewhat.)

And congrats, you should be able to win no matter what now. Unless you royally screw this up for some reason.
Rune Explanations
"Why choose these runes?"

Simple. Dark Harvest is an incredibly helpful tool to burst someone down as fast as you can-And you're going to be building far more Attack Damage than any regular AD Carry. Having it "Pop" with Crippling Strike might flat-out destroy a squishier Champion later in the game, so make sure you get as many stacks as possible... Without risking a pointless death, of course.

Cheap Shot is useful only if you're certain you're going to use Apprehend before Crippling Strike and it's a bit of additional damage on top, but it's not so important. Still helpful however. Taste of Blood is the only other alternative you could run as Darius. Relentless Hunter is the most helpful rune you're going to get out of the four once you dispose of your Boots-But you really want to stay in lane as often as you can, and get back in there to farm as quick as possible. Ravenous Hunter is a good alternative, but survivability is not exactly an issue considering most of your damage is going to be centered around Autoattacks which will apply Lifesteal.

As for Sorcery... Well...

Manaflow Band is the better choice between that and Absolute Focus since it is going to lower your Attack Damage if you are unable to stay at 70% HP and it will also contribute toward your Muramana-Provided you do get to it. It will also help with sustain a fair bit once maxed-So you won't need to prioritise Essence Reaver that badly. Gathering Storm will yield the largest amount of Adaptive Force among all Runes-So the longer the match drags out, the more difficult it will be for your enemies to survive your Attacks.

You do want to run double Adaptive Force as well-You want to score kills in one hit, right? No reason not to run double Adaptive Force then. The last one can be changed to Magic Resistance if there is any need-But it is not too important.
Item Explanations
Still here because something is not exactly clear? Okay, I guess I should say more.

Immortal Shieldbow is the main reason you can build a disgusting amount of Attack Damage-Since Everfrost yields 15 Ability Power with each Legendary Item, you want something on the same wavelength. Immortal Shieldbow is that item, yielding 5 Attack Damage and a bonus of 50 HP per Legendary Item, it will make up for any lack of Armor and Magic Resistance whatsoever. Not to mention its Shield once you've dropped to critical levels of HP. It's both a failsafe and your main drug for this build. The fact it comes with Critical Strike Chance makes it all the better, making your Autoattacks just about Critical to your victory.

Okay, you can yeet me off Mount Targon for that pun now. I'm sorry.

Bloodthirster offers FAR too much to pass up on. Quite a hefty amount of Attack Damage? Check. Critical Strike Chance? Check. Absurd Lifesteal? Check. An even more busted passive? Check. The only alternative you could swap this out for, is Lord Dominik's Regards in the event there are far too many tanks on the field. You're not going to be building much in terms of HP, so rocking it will be more than plentiful to bump up your numbers on a hit. Not to mention the added Penetration. More than Half someone's Armor is going to be gone during Damage Calculation...

The Collector is just too good to pass up on as well-Considering Damage over Time effects WILL still trigger Death and Taxes-Instantly executing the poor sap you left alive to bleed out. This item will also make your kills far easier to score in just one hit. Add a bit of Lethality and Criticals, and it will just speak to your soul.

Essence Reaver is the only non-Mythical Spellblade Item that will work in this case-The only other one being Lich Bane which serves absolutely No Purpose to Darius as you will be building no Ability Power whatsoever. Since you're going to be pressing W, this will also activate Spellblade for an additional burst of damage with your next Autoattack-Kinda perfect, don't you think? And to top it off, it yields Critical Strike Chance too! How beautiful, is it not?

Infinity Edge is a must, if you are aiming for a Critical Strike Chance of 100%. It's going to bump your total damage with Crippling Strike to 2000 or even higher depending on who you're facing-But it will absolutely demolish any Squishy Champion as soon as you even Touch them.

Muramana Is your last item once you've disposed of your Boots--Simply because at this point, if you haven't finished, you're in need of an even bigger oomph with your damage. And Muramana will do just that. No Critical Strike Chance-but do you even need it?-And yet holds a passive that makes your Attack Damage skyrock to amounts so dumb you could be wondering why you have not built this item sooner. You will be sitting on about 1110 bonus Mana as far as my calculations can tell, So you can more than hope to surpass 510 Attack Damage with it. Excluding Runes and others.

In short, everything has been hand-picked to ensure your Attack Damage goes to the highest amount possible, adding whatever bonus damage can be piled up to boost that one attack to completely ruin someone's life and make them question why they decided to try and flail at you.

Good Luck, I say to thee.
