Intro

Since season 3 I have been dominating to Gold or better using one champion alone. Pantheon is a super versatile champion that can do most things effectively. His skill set and build can easily push anyone who is willing to learn to a higher rating. I have had a 70% win ratio (OP.GG, 2017) every season with this champion. This guide will show surely that Pantheon can win trades, creep score easily, bully his opponent, and be the early game snowball champion you need to win games.

How to win trades

So Pantheon's passive will be your bread and butter in lane as a bully. A good Pantheon knows when to trade with his passive up, and a better Pantheon will trade by double stacking his passive. First you lead with a few spears from a distance. When it is time to trade hit him with a spear, walk up to him and begin to trade with auto attacks. When he breaks your passive, land another spear, then auto attack again, use your stun, and here is where you see the difference between Pantheons. Most Pantheons will lose top lane from lack of passive use. Most champions he can beat are your traditional melee swingers (Counter Stats, 2017). If Pantheon blocks their first attack, builds up 3 stacks on his passive, then stuns, he will have his passive up again and a second passive waiting at 3 stacks. So one more skill or attack will pop your passive again when it falls off. This will be the key to trading as Pantheon. Once you hit level 6, it's time to snowball the rest of the field. You can immediately start to gank other lanes to get them so they can carry the game if it goes to far into late game. At a certain point of the game Pantheons win percent drops off and it's always late game (Rate Limited, 2017).

Farming

Farming on Pantheon is fairly simple as long as you are being a lane bully. For starters let the minions come into the lane and begin fighting. At this point position yourself between the enemy minions so that you can easily auto attack any of them that drop low enough to earn a creep score on. At level 1 and level 2 this could be a bit hard, but once you get to level 3 you can use your heart seeker strike passive to auto execute anything below 15% life. Now, this is why I go flat attack damage runes over armor penetration. The flat attack damage runes against minions that have such low armor to begin with will grant greater critical strikes, thus farming becomes as simple as right clicking. Once you get ahead, you can just use your "E" on a wave and it will farm all six minions instantly. This is good because you can then push your lane, and be even more of a bully on the enemy's tower.

Bully

When you are bullying your opponent the key to success is proper warding. A good lane bully will keep his opponent off the minions and far enough away so that the opponent can't get money or experience. The thing to keep in mind is the right amount of aggression. If you are behind in lane your only job is to gank another lane and get them ahead with the early game 2v1's. If you are ahead in lane try keeping these steps in mind. First, if you are being pushed towards your tower or are freezing your lane this is the best time to zone and bully. This means stand on your opponent's side of the minions to keep him from getting to yours. You are more likely to keep him from getting money and experience this way. Your chances of being ganked are way lower, because no one wants to tower dive early. Secondly, if you are pushing him into tower, and he isn't low enough to kill with ignite, back off and ward. These wards will allow you to either run, flash, or ult away keeping you from feeding the lane you been trying to hard to keep out of the game thus far. Lastly, if you are pushing into his tower, try looking for a gank at the enemy jungle's blue or mid lane. Shutting down two lanes at once is what makes this champion such a strong snowball.

Early game snowball

Mostly players that wield the power of Pantheon in the top lane have a 60% or better win rate with him (Rate Limited, 2017). The stats show that this champion can easily carry a game, and will win more. Pantheon can easily shut down more then one lane at a time. The fact he can bully and zone top lane shuts that down. Then whenever your ultimate is up, you look to a lane that is open for an easy two versus one scenario. This then gets other lanes ahead causing more of a chance to win. Depending on the lanes you get ahead, this can cover your overall Pantheon score form 60% to 70% and that will allow you to easily break into Gold or even Platinum.

Conclusion

A versatile champion and second only to his counters in the top lane (Counter Stats, 2017) Pantheon brings dueling back to the top lane with honor. This overall versatile champion is easy to pick up and will allow anyone to win trades, bully, farm, and get that early snowball going. Every season I start off in mid silver rank wondering what champion I want to use to climb up in rating. My answer always comes up the same without fail, Pantheon.
