[Patch 10.23] S11 Viktor Build GrandMaster EUW (Strongest M

Viktor Gameplay
Start: Picking up Dorans Ring and 2 pots is always the best start - some prefer corrupting pot but i've found dorans ring to be far superior since dark seal doesnt give extended pot duration anymore.

Early Game/Lane: You will try in most matchups to back and scale for viktors 3 item powerspike, normally you did this in the prior seasons, but in preseason you can do so much with just 1 or 2 items (boots included ofc). The way you try and scale best is by playing safe, the way you do that is by creating, what is refered to as a "freeze" infront of your tower, which is obtained by slowly stacking your first 2-3 waves then crashing them as a huge wave together into the turret, so that the opponents wave now slowly builds up and pushes towards you, what you now do while its stacking, is slowly "thinning" the wave which means you have to be sure that the enemy minionwave doesn't become too big (max 4-5 minions more than your wave and not less than 3-2) by killing of some of your opponents minions while they are stacking, so that the enemy wave doesnt crash into your turret. This is a perfect example of a very great freeze -> (https://gyazo.com/04eb5b4723f9c8f452288dc3dbbbd893)in this position you're very unlikely to get ganked, and it puts the enemy midlaner in risk of being ganked or run down by you. The first part of the trick, where you slowly stack waves and then crash them, is also very great for when you want to reset, roam, help jungle or ward since it forces your opponent to collect the huge minonwave. Lasthitting is crucial since it determins when you can get your hexcore upgrades (Hexcore upgrades: E Then Q Then W)

First Reset: Against AD Midlaners, your optimal first back would normally be around 1475g where you buy a Seekers Armguard(900g), Dark Seal(350g) Refillable Pots(150g) and a Control Ward(75g). If you can't afford to stay in lane this long, then 1050g-1125g will be just fine, giving you Seekers Armguard(900g), Refillable Pots(150g) and a Control Ward(75g) (remember if you have taken tp, you get a free reset). Against AP Midlaners, your optimal first back would be around 1525g where you buy a Lost Chapter (1300g), Refillable Pots(150g) and a Control Ward(75g), remember you have teleport against most AP Midlaners(which gives you a free reset so you can stay longer) since a lot of them doesnt offer 100-0 ONESHOT potential at lvl 6, Unless they are a Burst Mage (like Syndra, Annie, Velkoz) or an AP Assasin (like Fizz, Leblanc Ahri), in which case you would want to go for a reset preferably 1385 for a Nul-Magic Mantel(450g), Amplifying Tome(435g), Sapphire Crystal(350) and Refillable Pots(150g). After this you opt into finishing the Lost Chapter and use the Nul-Magic Mantel to buy Mercury's Treads or save it for Banshee's Veil.

Midgame and lategame: After enemy midtower has fallen you will try to collect sidelane waves, if you're up against an assasin as lane opponent or jungler, you will have to wait for the wave to come to you or be certain as to the whereabouts of your opponent (DO NOT SPLITPUSH AS VIKTOR YOU DO NOT HAVE AN ESCAPE). After having collected a wave on the sidelane, and you have hit 2 hexcore upgrades and 2 items, you're pretty strong and you would want to look to teamfight with your team, shove the wave as far as you can without putting yourself at risk, then group with your team, set vision and teamfight. Viktor hits his disgustingly huge powerspike at 3 items and 3 hexcore upgrades, and everything gained from there will only be gravy on top at this point all you're looking to do is teamfight.

Teamfighting: As Viktor you're a scaling beast with a somewhat weak early game, which means when you go for teamfighting you have to be sure that you have hit most of your item and hexcore spikes. Viktor is an Imobile control mage, which means he doesn't have any escape or dash other than his flash and he is squishy, but he has long range abilities tons of damage,a shield, movementspeed and slows so he is very good at kiting and hitting from a distance. All of these qualities makes viktor an ideal front to back teamfighter (a champion that thrives on playing behind his frontline (tanks) in a teamfight and dishing out damage). Viktor doesn't have any kind of engage and is easily locked by cc, so the only reason for viktor being infront of his tanks at any point, would be to poke with his e. How a front to back teamfight is supposed to look, and where you should stand most of the time, as viktor -> (https://gyazo.com/9df5064fba60c04c8eae8d57e1671e17). An important thing to remember when you fight with viktor, is that you have your w, e and r which is extremely good in close spaces, and viktor can usually solowin a fight in close spaces, just like a rumble ult in baron pit or in the small roads in the jungle.
