Its quite easy to play Mundo top. The only counter is ignite, and that has a long cool down. If your opponent has Ignite, you gotta make sure to attack and to use your Ultimate once its down. Your goal is to harass the enemy away from farming, because your farming won't be great yourself. You have the ability to go all in if your ult is up and you are sure you won't take too much damage from minions.
