Ideal Final Build
Not Updated For Current Season
The masteries shown here are not yet updated for the current season, the guide author needs to set up the new masteries. As such, they will be different than the masteries you see in-game.
Threats to Shaco with this build
|Warwick||Easy to counter jungle because he is purely single target damage. Usually squishy early game so try to abuse this. This also goes for most other single target damage junglers.|
Hi, my named is basedJiyeon and I am a Gold V player on the North American server. This is my first guide and I've decided to make it about Shaco because him and Diana are the champions I used to climb the ladder. Don't be fooled, you can climb much higher with Shaco, I simply do not have the luxury of playing League too often. Enjoy the guide!
We take this for more cc during ganks and later upgrade this with the Warrior Enchantment because of the +65 AD which is really good on Shaco early game. We can also upgrade this with Cinderhulk if tankiness is needed.
We take this early for better roaming, faster clears, and better dueling.
Take this for better waveclear and for its active. This helps tremendously with burst and clearing in general.
We take this for the critical chance, attack speed, and amazing passive. Basically a but with added range and no aoe.
Take this for more crit chance, attack speed, and more burst. This can also help for faster clearing overall. Take this before if you are splitting a lot early-mid game.
Last Item Choices
This item is great. Adds more crit chance while also adding more crit damage. Also gives 65 AD which is a nice bonus. Overall a great item for bursting down their carries in two hits and usually my preferred last item.
This item is for the tankier and more damaging teams. The health, damage, and armor pen it gives is great for shredding and dueling tanks/bruisers.
I almost never buy this item because of the circumstances I buy it under. This is for situations where there team is greatly duel based. (Fiora, Riven, Wukong, Irelia, etc.)
Never ever straight-up buy this. Always buy first and replace it with this for free if they start one-shotting or out-dueling you.
Buy this as your last item and trade for if you feel like you need to be tanky. You can also build The Black Cleaver instead of if you have no tank.
Buy this if their AP carry is one-shotting you. (Leblanc, Ahri, Annie, etc.)
Buy this instead of if you want to roam more. I personally prefer over this because of the attack speed it gives. In the end, this only gives mobility, but if you are someone that prefers that, then by all means buy this.
Buy this against teams with high CC or AP.
Buy this if their ADC is ***king you up or if you just need armor :D.
Shaco deals 20% bonus damage when striking an enemy from behind with his basic attacks or Two-Shiv Poison.
TL;DR: Deal more damage when attacking from behind.
ACTIVE: Shaco instantly blinks to the target location and stealths for up to 3.5 seconds, also causing his next basic attack within 6 seconds to critically strike for bonus critical damage.
TL;DR: Go invisible and next attack crits.
Jack in the Box
ACTIVE: Shaco summons a box at the target location that stealths after a 2-second delay and lasts for up to 60 seconds. If an enemy springs the trap, it opens and causes surrounding enemies to turn and Fear icon flee while it attacks nearby enemies for up to 5 seconds.
TL;DR: Place box that fears and goes pew pew.
PASSIVE: While Two-Shiv Poison is not on cooldown, Shaco's basic attacks poison his targets, slowing them for 2 seconds and reducing the attack speed of minions and monsters.
ACTIVE: Shaco throws a dagger at the target enemy, dealing magic damage and Slow icon slowing them for 3 seconds.
TL;DR: Throws a knife that does damage and slows. Slows monsters attack speed when ready to use.
ACTIVE: Shaco vanishes for 0.5 seconds, then creates a clone of himself that lives for up to 18 seconds and explodes upon its death, dealing magic damage to all enemies around it.
TL;DR: Summons clone that does damage when destroyed.
Greater Mark of Attack Damage
Greater Seal of Armor
Greater Seal of Health
Greater Glyph of Ability Power
Greater Glyph of Scaling Magic Resist
Greater Quintessence of Attack Speed
Armor seals for that extra protection against jungle creeps. You could also bring health seals, same concept but also helps vs AP.
Ability power glyphs for the extra umph for the early game start and could also help secure first blood. You can replace these for scaling MR if they have 3+ mages.
Attack speed quints for clear speed and faster splitpushing. Also helps a bit in dueling. More efficient than flat AD in my opinion.
One of the best summoners for Shaco. We bring ignite for easier kills and first bloods. I bring this instead of flash because if you play Shaco correctly, your Deceive will be all you need.
A must for junglers. Helps for clearing camps faster and once upgraded, improves your gank potential. Bring this.
If you insist, then bring this. As stated earlier, if you can learn how to not use your Deceive recklessly and time it right, you will not need this.
A good early game is CRUCIAL for Shaco. Early game you should be farming and ganking as much as possible. One of Shaco's advantages as a jungler is how easy it is for him to counter jungle and kill you. You should abuse this as much as you can.
By this point, you should have Ravenous Hydra and should be splitpushing as often as you can. You can also try to ward up the enemy team's jungle and try to catch them out of position as much as possible. Of course, if a teamfight erupts you should try to help. More of this will be covered in the next chapter.
Most of the time during teamfights, you will want to help your team by picking off people not there yet or by penetrating their back lines and killing the carries. Another way you can help your team while they are fighting is by splitpushing a lane. Unless your minions are almostt to their inhibitor or inner turret, then I do not reccomend this method. Your best bet would be to help your team by taking out the carries.
Well that is it for my Shaco guide. I did not feel the need to explain keystone masteries because I felt that it was standard on any champion that goes crit and is an assassin. I hope you enjoyed my guide and if you want any sections added then please ask so in the comments.
