Hi, Im Merlux, you upvote/downvote my guide AFTER you try 1-3 games with it please. I am putting this out there that the build I put in the tooltip above is not complete there is a section below on the situational items.

THIS GUIDE IS NOT TO TEACH YOU HOW TO RIVEN, ITS TO TEACH YOU HOW TO BUILD HER TO BE AN EXCELLENT INTERRUPTER AND CHASER.

Alot of you looked above and was like... wtf... why, what, is this troll? No. Its not, this build maximizes on a few things...

1. Runes, Riven has a high movespeed, but I felt it was not high enough. So my idea was to maximize on her chasing ability without having to chase with your skills. Movespeed quints, and dodge yellows + nimbleness mastery makes you an excellent chaser while giving you a decent dodge chance early on. You arent jax but its a nice addition. MR for that stupid AP carry trying to pick on you, and Ar.pen for your abilities.

2. Masteries. I maximized on runspeed and CDR. I found that the offensive tree was wasting too much of my team utility, you still do plenty of damage without the offensive tree, and the survivibility and movespeed fromm both the defense tree and the utility tree are awesome.

3. Summoner skills.

Flash/Exaust
Flash/Ghost

These are your only options. You will have low success with any other summoners for the fact that riven already has an excellent kit and you need to be right on top of them to use that amazing kit.

Heal might be okay if your a noob or w/e.

Trinity force - Good item to work on from the start, using Q, attacking, using Q, attacking again will still proc the sheen effect. The runspeed is amazing putting you around 460ish and it gives you HP, a nice slow effect, and crit. Good allrounder build when you feel its a must.

Bloodthirster - Believe it or not 1-2 bloodthirsters on Riven is great, it makes her a better farmer and the AD it gives you is nice adding to your shield, Q, auto attack and stun. Plus the 20% extra AD from your ult.

Think about it like this, the more AD you have the more your ult gives you. so if you have 100AD, 20% of 100 = 120AD
200 AD, 20% of 200 = 240AD
300 AD, 20% of 300 = 360AD

AD is nice on riven so fully stacked blood thirsters are nice.

Warmogs/atma's, I dont suggest this combo mainly because Riven is actually excellently tanky. You can build this but just building atmas alone should be cost effective.

Frozen Mallet/Atmas, Replace frozen mallet with Trinity force if you are looking for the extra tankiness.

Riven's combo is not set in stone, shes not a QWER bblaster, play her for a few games and you should know what to use and when...

For example if your facing a teamfight I like to Rush in with E,Q,Q,Q autoattacking inbetween when I know the damage wont be a waste, saving E if theres a malz, Nunu, MF, WW, anyone with a channel ult.

CHASING - I dont suggest you waste your abilities chasing a champion if you know you can catch up to them with your crazy mobility. Althout Slapping E to cach up works, dont waste your Q and E when your ult is down because you wont have anything to hit them with.

Your ultimate - Activating your ult before an initiation is best due to maximized damage as the AD bonus from your ult goes to your abilities as well. Save windslash for last hitting, kills are 300gold, take advantage of last hitting as the more gear you have the better off your team is.

FARMING - Dont waste your ult to farm a wave as the windslash doesnt do much to minions, use W, and Q and auto attack, you will farm plenty fine.

Wards, my opinion on wards is pretty limited, people think that buying them wins games, thats a fallacy. If you buy them, and you dont get your money's worth from them, it wont win you games, for example if you buy 5 wards and you dont even get 1 kill from any of them, thats a ton of gold down the drain.

My build provides you with wriggles and usually with wriggles you and the jungler are responsible for dragon, so placing wriggles around baron and dragon usually nets you kills where they are headed toward top, bottom, blue, red, dragon or baron (depending on which side of the map you are on too)

Potions - Honestly most people stop buying potions after laning phase, and honestly I have no idea why, 200hp is the difference between being dead and surviving a teamfight, so popping one before a teamfight ALWAYS helps, and they are very cost efficient. You wont need mana potions unless you like to troll the other team, pop one while your baroning and they cv you, or to make your teammates laugh when you got the win in the bag.

Know when to pick Riven, shes a tanky DPS/Interrupter, she excels at making team fights hell, she has a mini popup and a mini stun so use them efficiently. Dont pick her if you got a ton of AD, pick her if you got a bunch of ranged.

This build works for Dominion as well.
