Flat health quints - I Choose flat health because it helps alot in the early game. Ryze usually only has 420 health, so its a good advantage.
Magic pen reds - Magic pen = win, easy as that.
Mana per level seals - Ryze wont be very mana greedy if u get good at last hitting creeps with your auto attacks, so you wont need mp/5. Therefore i choose mana per level for the extra damage late game.
Flat mana glyphs - Since ryze scales with mostly mana on his spells, this gives him a some nice damage early game.
This mastery build will give u about everything u need.
Expanded mind - ~200 extra mana late game.
Haste - improved ghost, which will get u out of alot of nasty situations.
meditation (1/3) - a little bit more mana reg, its not alot, but we will take all we can.
quickness - for a little extra movement speed
intelligence & sorcery - 9% cooldown reduction. With my itembuild this will bring you to ~40%cdr lategame.
Presence of the master - so u can spam your ghost and flash more often!
archaic knowledge - 15% magic pen, pure win whole game long.
U may choose to take 3/3 points in mana reg if u want, but i just dont feel like you need it. i like the 5% mana better.
Q is ryzes main dmg outcome. You want to get this ability to the max as fast as possible, because it does alot of damage and only has a few seconds cooldown.
Mainly you want to level his spells that scales with mana first, which is Q and W. And of course get a point in his ultimate whenever u can.
The only reason u want to get 1 point in E early game, is that u get alot more burst with ryze when you are able to spam all his spells, because then he can cast alot of Q's. Reason is his passive.
Ryze scales with mana, therefore you will be very tanky as most mana items has a defensive stat on it.
You can choose to get a guardians angel as your last item, but i usually get another archangel for the extra damage.
After 40-50 minutes you will have your full item build. 5k mana, 3,5k health, 180 armor, 100 magic resist, 39% cdr, 500ap. This means you will dash out alot of damage, and at the same time people will struggle with getting u dead. You will even have a mana shield every 45 seconds which blocks a spell, and a offensive passive which reduces enemies attack speed by 20%.
With 5k mana you can pretty much spam your spells as much as u ****ing want, which is awesome !
(with blue buff you will have 250 mp5 !!!)
I feel like ghost/flash is the only two spells you should use on ryze.
In my opinion those are the best summoners in the game, they are useful in almost any situation!
Ryze is squishy, so you want to have spells which helps you to get away from ganks etc.
Ignite would be useful too, but flash and ghost are better.

- Good ganker
- Able to survive ganks
- 2 seconds stun
- Ult gives spellvamp, heal!
- Fast famer (ult)
Really, there isnt too many cons with ryze. He is a good champ overall.
He WILL get focues tho, since he does soo much damage with his ult. :(
HOW TO DO AS MUCH DAMAGE WITH RYZE AS POSSIBLE!
Q -> W -> Q -> E -> Q (You will be able to spam Q this way, because of his passive)
(Activating you ult may help you win fights, as it makes your spells heal you.)
R -> Q -> E - Q -> W -> (this will do alot of damage overall to the enemy team, but most of the time you will just use the 1v1 tactic, so you can stun as much as possible)
