First out of the pool
You want to buy a Sapphire Crystal, 2 Health Potions, and head to the middle lane. Take Spell Flux as you first summoners spell. Starting in the middle lane you want to try and last hit minions with your auto attack and harass the opponent with spell flux, you can cast spell flux about every time the cooldown wears off and still have mana left over because of the masteries that i have chosen. The seals and quintessences are for early game as the glyphs are for late and the marks are for all game.You should try and only use spell flux until about level 4-5 where you should unload the Ryze generic combo which i will talk about later.
First trip back
The first trip back you should buy a Tear of the Goddess, Boots of Speed, and another Sapphire Cristal building up to Catalyst the Protector and eventually a Rod of the Ages. At this stage you probably should have ghost still up and you can use it to get to your lane faster if you chose.
At this point it is mid game and you have entered the center of the fight where they may be planing to set up a gank on the middle lane or you may be planing to do the same. Just be cautious of this and listen to mia's and watch what your laning opponent is doing. You should try and pick up the golem as soon as you feel comfortable to abuse your passive and fill your tear if the goddess by spamming spell flux mostly, and the others on anyone in your lane as soon and as much as you can. You should have a RODA boots of mobility and a Tear of the Goddess in your possession, and should now build a mejai's soul stealer at this point. The reason that i build it so late is that you don't get many kills early on with this build because it is mostly built for late game so this is built before you usually bundle up for those exciting team fights and where you get the majority of your kills. At this time you also have your boots of mobility so you can zip across the map like its nobody's business and gank the hell out of those squishys.
The time has come to show your true counter champion ability's, Tower diving to secure an ace, or coming across champions in the jungle and getting double kills, or simply Aoeing the hell out of the enemy team. At this point you dint want to go anywhere alone because just your RODA Ghost AND Flash wont save your life from enemy ganks. I figure you know the basics of lol and late game madness so i will skip over that part and tell you haw to succeed in team fights. You don't want to waste your ultimate and you don't want to forget to use. You should ALWAYS target the squishy mages and ranged dps champions which you rune prison, overload, and spell flux. But be weary about casting Spell Flux with no one around the champion you are targeting because the majority of the damage you deal is with Spell Flux and the AOE of the spell flux between the targets. The reasoning behind me buying will of the ancients instead of Lich Bane is that i feel that you don't need the extra damage from Lich Bane but the 15% spell vamp and added ability power from Will of the Ancients gives you added survivability and better ability to stay in a lane and push towers for longer periods of time from killing monster camps and getting health for such actions.
"Generic Ryze Combo"
This is the basic Ryze mass rape of the other team. The combo that i use is that i trap the enemy with Rune Prison, Cast Desperate Power (Ultimate), Run Closer, Cast Overload, then cast Spell Flux. Casting Desperate Power AFTER you rune prison the enemy champ allows you to save your ultimate in some situations where you may cast your ultimate and the enemy champ runs in fear for their health bar and then your ultimate timer is gone and no spells were casted against the enemy saving his health bar and losing your ultimate.
Slightly beneficial spell, take it if your team absolutely needs it but otherwise no.You Shouldn't have mana problems with Archangel's staff RODA and golem buffTake instead of flash if you feel more comfortable fith this spell, nice for getting out of tight situationsMany uses, very helpful, especially late game and in jungleNot for mage, for tankUseful for running, chasing, returning to your lane, changing lane, running around in the back lines casting hell upon the enemy teamHelpful early game for staying in lane, saving your butt in bad situations, but I recommend flash or cleanse which are beneficial late game tooNO... if you cant last hit enemies with ghost and plash and need ignite, you should't be playing RyzeDislike the spell altogether its very UP and Ryze doesn't need attack damageSpell is purely for noobsSmite is for jungelingDescent spell, has many uses but not my first pick
Other *Situational* Items
If you don't want to die against high cc/caster teamsFor teams with high healthdon't think i need to say mutch about theseyou can use it, i will bet that it can be very powerful i just feel that other items are more importantDRINK AT YOUR OWN RISK, I rarely get the Elixir of Brilliance or Oracle's Elixir because i am unsure of a good time to drink the Elixir of Brilliance and i feel that the Oracle's Elixir is for the tank or strong melee dps.
