Introduction

Hi!
This is my first build/guide and my english isn´t very good xD (but thats unimportant^^)
So the first thing you should know is, that the new Ryze doesn´t need so much AP!
He needs Cooldown Reduction and a A LOT MANA!

So here are a few basics you maybe should know about ryze:

Story

Ryze, The Rogue Mage

The halls of traditional study were never for Ryze, who felt a more raw and primal connection to the magic of Runeterra than those who tried to teach him. As a young man, he travelled the world, seeking the wisdom of powerful hermits, witches, and shamans. When he had learned all he could, Ryze turned to seek the lost, forgotten, and forbidden knowledge in the world. This led him to an ancient form of spell craft known as thorn magic. This art required Ryze to tattoo spells on his body, infusing his being with vast arcane power. His travels also brought him to the giant indestructible scroll he carries on his back. The purpose of the inscribed spell is a secret only Ryze knows. However, he claims it is an abomination, something that he must safeguard from the world. Today, Ryze has joined the League of Legends to study the magical creatures and powerful will-workers that fight there, in order to complete his exploration of mystical Runeterra.On the field of battle, Ryze is a magical powerhouse. Channeling the power of the arcane through his tattoos, he unleashes deadly electrical blasts at his foes. He can also channel such primal power through himself, chaining lightning strikes from foe to foe. His very being has become a magic sponge, absorbing mana from his enemies. Ryze is also capable of calling on forces that lock an enemy in place, rendering it a helpless opponent. Like a tiger, he is never more deadly than when his time is almost up when he is badly hurt, the mojo of his tattoos makes him even more powerful.

Skills


Overload


Ryze blasts enemy unit for 30 / 55 / 80 / 105 / 130 (+20% of ability power) plus 10% of his max mana in magic damage (+100% of ability power).
Cooldown 3.5 seconds | Cost 70 mana | Range 675

My opinion:
This is his main dmg skill! Late game it will make huge dmg because of almost none cooldown and your big mana pool.
Use it to kill creeps, but care not to run out of mana in early game!




Rune Prison

Ryze traps an enemy unit, preventing them from moving for 1 / 1.25 / 1.5 / 1.75 / 2 seconds and dealing 60 / 95 / 130 / 165 / 200 (+60% of ability power) magic damage plus 5% of Ryze's maximum mana.

Cooldown 14 seconds | Cost 80 / 95 / 110 / 125 / 140 mana | Range 625

My opinion: Very nice spell! Use it everytime you want want to attack an enemy champion and help your team, if they are in danger or to prevent an enemy from running away.
This works great with flash! If he want to run away just flash and make Rune Prison!




Spell Flux

Ryze unleashes a bouncing orb of magical power which bounces to enemy units or himself, up to 5 times. Each bounce deals 50 / 70 / 90 / 110 / 130 (+35% of ability power) magic damage and reduces the target's Magic Resistance by 15.

Cooldown 14 seconds | Cost 60 / 75 / 90 / 105 / 120 mana | Range 675

My opinion: BAD! No use. Too weak early and to weak in late game (u have no Ap => no dmg with this spell).
My only tip is: If you are in a 1on1 and you use it, then stay near your enemy champion so it can bounce around and make more damage. If you are too far away it will hit him just once.




Desperate Power

Ryze becomes supercharged, gaining 15% spell vamp, 75 / 150 / 225 maximum mana, and causing his spells to deal 50% AoE damage for 5 / 6 / 7 seconds.

Cooldown 70 / 60 / 50 seconds | Range 200

My opinion: Hm...I don´t know what to think of this skill. it´s much worse then other ultis, but it isn´t totally useless^^ Use it to heal yourself early and mid game, so that u can stay longer on your lane and use it in teamfights! The AoE damage will help you, if you use the ulti right!



(Passiv)

Arcane Mastery

When Ryze casts a spell, all other spells have their cooldown reduced by 1 second.


My opinion: Nice :) Works great with his low cooldown and Overload!!

Pros / Cons

Pros:

1: - hard to kill in mid and late game
2: - not very difficult to play
3: - low cooldown
4: - since level 6 you can stay long on lane (because of healing with ulti)
5: - funny to play, if you are fed :D

Cons:

1: - farming is difficult and needs conzentration
2: - AP almost useless
3: - poor ulti :(
4: - Spell Flux nearly useless
5: - weak in early game

Summoner Spells

Ghost::
Good for almost every champion. I use it to escape out of dangerious siuations and to get the scared enemys running away ;)

Flash:
A MUST HAVE! Very useful to esacape, gank, initiate and so on...
Look at my clue, which I wrote down in the Skill Chapter. This helped me a lot of times ;)


Other possible Summoner Spells:

Teleport:
Helpful! No comment on this. Everybody should know how to use this spell ;)

Heal:
Very nice early game spell for Ryze. But bad late game spell in my opinion. If you die often in early game, it´s definetly an option fpryou ;)

Clairvolance:
Nice spell, but you are a carry! So the supporter has to take it!

Ignite:
Useful in the beginnig of the game and if a enamy is running away, BUT: You are weak early game and have top play defensivly (1. reason for not taking ignite) and with Ghost, Flash and Rune Prison they shouldn´t have a big chance to get away (2. reason). Just stop him and kill him with your spells or with the help of your team mates ;)
But if you really love Ignite and a pro with using it, then take it :D

Exhaust:
Great spell, but Ghost and Flash are much more useful for Ryze. But you can take it, if our team doesn´t have an other Exhaust!

The other Summoner Spells aren´t an option for Ryze...

Items

This are the Items you can alway use. They give your surviveability and mana (=>dmg)!
Note that the new Ryze doesn´t need AP. He is a Spell-Maschine-Gun with spells, which don´t need AP (exepct Spell Flux...but you know what I think of this skill^^).

The only item I change sometimes is Abyssal Scepter:

Option 1:Guardian Angel
Get this, if you are always focused and your team doesn´t need more damage of you :)

Option 2:Zhonya´s Hourglass
Very useful, if playing against a heavy physical team!

Other items you don´t really need.
