Pros:
- You will be your teams tank!
- Foes will cry when they see you tanking their entire team
- You will still have mad damage output
- Its fun to break games

Cons:
- You will not have as much damage a normal ryze would
- You will not be able to truly tank until late-mid game or early-end game
- You have to know Ryzes mechanics well
- Silence Sucks

Normal Ryze runes work just fine. Mpen / Mp5/lvl / CDR/CDR/lvl are just fine. These resist runes will give you massive effective health beginning game, allowing you to tank without the items. It really pisses people off when their listed damage move of 100 hits you for 50.

Other options include health quints or dodge defensive. Especially with the changed masteries below. Nothing is quite so funny as dodging every 4th attack (25% = .75%x9 + 1.5%x3 + 2% talents + 12% tabi)

The current build I run on tank Ryze is a hybrid. The 'must have' talents include Archaic Knowledge, and Strength of Spirit. SoP converst 1% of your 5.5k mana into Hp/5 (a free 55 hp/5) Begging game this is like having a ******ed pendant of regen while you lane.

Another viable option is to spec full defensive (and still pick up archaic knowledge)

The item build is fairly self explanatory, it maximizes Effective Health while still giving you massive mana.

Your mains stat is mana. Buy as much of it as possible, for it literally equates to damage. AP, is basically pointless. The little bit you gain from Archangels is more than enough.

The skills are pretty standard; Overload if your best bud. Yoyo in fights, using your snare to avoid taking hits. Use your ult to spell vamp heal when your low.

I like Flash / Exhaust due to the dual nature of both.
Early and mid game, they are great for ganks, slowing, covering ground, and lowering resistances.
Late game, they give mad survival. Flash will save you. Many times. Exhaust, when used in a defensive fashion can be a game changer. It is what will make you survive attacks from Champions like Yi, Trynd, MF, and other physical carries.

In summary, Tank Ryze is lolsome. great for when your high, playing with mates, on a smurf, or just plain want to troll reality.
