Introduction
Olaf is a decent farmer considering he only has 1 AOE ability. His attack speed as his health lowers allows you to kill minions faster (duh...) and can be stacked with your W. Your Q will allow you to farm against range champions and also poke them under tower or from a distance. Your E is useful for finishing minions due to its low cooldown and (if used correctly) no cost. Farming shouldn't be much of a problem if you bully the lane by poking the enemy back.
Ok, so here's where Olaf becomes awesome. You have to know when to use your abilities in order to avoid suiciding, and when you should back out. Start off by poking them with your Q. Once they are poked to around 4/5 of their health, you can go in. If you are laning against a champion with a silence, throw your axe, hit your E and then W before they can silence. This will allow you to get your combo off and wait for the silence to end. Try to keep your Q axe as close to you as possible, and if necessary, push the fight towards it as it will drastically decrease the cooldown and allow you to deal more damage quickly. If you are playing against a champion with lifesteal (i.e. Nasus or Aatrox), you may have a difficult time duelling. Remember that your E will cost health, and this may end up killing you if used excessively. Only use it if you are sure you will gain an advantage from it, dont take many early game risks as Olaf's E is a risky ability. Once you hit 6, you should be able to duel anyone who has a similar amount of gold as you, but be wary of ganks due to your lack of escapes.
