Introduction

Hey Guys,
welcome to my Master Yi Guide, read it, use it and see how I play Master Yi.

Important: I returnded to update this guide. There may still be some misstakes (Season 3 and all this stuff ^^) please tell me if you found some. Btw. I know that there are still more things to correct because of the new Season. I'll try my best :)

In this guide I will show you how you can play Master Yi with full attack damage and kill your enemies easily. I hope you'll like it. Do not forget to send me a feedback. ;)

Master Yi is a very strong AD Melee Champion, he is really fast that may explain the name of the guide. ^^ Well he is a usefull solo top champion and jungler. Well I recommend this guide for players between level 1 and 20. (Maybe 25 ^^).

Pros / Cons

First the Pros and Cons.
PROS

• is one of the easiest champions of the League of legends, so it wont be too difficult to play him.
•By the way, can push great because of .
•If you fight in 1vs1 against an AD Carry or Squeshee AP Champs I'm sure you will win.
•Because of his ultimate ability he isn't an easy target for opponents, it is the best ability for the Escape.
•But also, because it gives him such a high attack speed, is it very nice to kill opponents fast.
•Because of the combination (Highlanger + Frozen Mallet) there will be no way for your enemies to escape.
•All of his abilitys are based on AD, well Meditate uses a bit AP too, but who cares :P?

CONS

•You need alot of farms.
•If you used wrong, the probability of dying would be very high....
•Opponents with alot of life in the middle gameplay, are dangerous for
•Dont think the enemies cant beat you, I would say .. the jungler is the most dangerous enemy for Master Yi

IMPORTANT

•Do not insult your team, because they are the only ones that can warn you or tank for you which allows you to kill opponents.

Items

- When the game start buy some and 3x Heal Potion because isn't very good for AD.

- After, you buy for more attackspeed and fast movement. Buy for more damage.

- Then buy, for more damage and lifesteal.

- Important is, that you buy for more attackspeed (and fast lifesteal).

- After , buy a . It's one of the important things, it gives you more attackspeed and a higher chance of critical hits.

- Well, now buy a you can use it to slow your enemy if isn't ready.

- After the you need to get more Attack Damage and crit. chance, Infinity Edge is the perfect item for this.

- When you have enough gold, buy for more armor and a reanimation after death

Situational Items - Explanation

is an Item, that gives you tons of health. If your opponents are really tanky you should buy it. Because it gives you a well health regeneration and (I already said that ^^) very much health. You will be really tanky.

is an item that works perfectly against enemy tanks. If all your enemies are really tanky, you can use it to beat them. Read the item description to understand what I wrote.

already has high attack speed and movement speed. Well, if you activate you will get even more attack speed and movement speed. is the perfect items to chase fast enemies down.

is an item that you normally buy when you are a tank. But it also works if you aren`t a tank. Because it passive you will be safe against enemies AP Champions. So if your enemies are having much AP. Buy this item!

You are fed, what now?

If you are very fed, change you Items into the "Fed Guide" Items Dont use it as your normal Guide. Its only for the time you are fed or you have enough Gold. With this Items you can kill solo.

Note needs 30 minions, to use the real strength which it has.
You have 2x , if you hold your mouse over you will
see how much minions you need.
By the way, only 1x full does not mean that the other is also full.

Fed Guide

Hey there friend! In this Chapter I'll show you the purchase order of the Fed Guide. The Core Items of the Fed Guide can be seen, waaaaay up there, just click on "Fed guide" which is right next to the "Normal Guide".

It was his first time with , and he dominated the game.
I spectated it and I recorded it, too. In the first minutes he killed and and scored a doublekill. Later he did tons of damage, but often ksed with his ultimate. It was his first game with Master Yi, he died often but he did a great job. Ultimately the win is important ;)

Mastery-Tree Explanation

Farming

Minions are very important for AD champions, the items in this guide are expensive, that means you need alot of farms. Your [Alpha Strike is an alternative to farm.
If you're sure, that no enemy is near, you can use . It is important for 1vs1 and teamfights and so on. So if enemy champions are near, dont waste it for minions.

By the way, there is a trick to make your opponent weak without fighting.

Wait until the enemy minion wave has only 3 minions, so when an opponent is near, use on the first minion, it will go to the second, the third, to your opponent and back to the first minion.

How to use Alpha Strike to farm, and attack an enemy

Example
They are at 4 different positions.

Minion 1 - is near you
Minion 2 - is near Minion 1
Minion 3 - is near Minion 2 and near Ashe
Ashe - stays under her turret but is near Minion 3, and Minion 1 isn't in turret range

Use on Minion 1, will go to Minion 2 then to Minion 3 on and back to Minion 1. That means, gets damage by , but you wont get damage by the turret. Minion 2 and 3 maybe die and you get gold.

This is the same description like before, but maybe it is easier to understand it with a list.

Great - I attacked Ashe, but what does it have to do with farming

Yes, I am sure you know that has a 20/30/40/50/60% chance to deal 400 bonus magic damage to minions. So you can farm and make or your opponent weaker and weaker with every ,means your opponent isnt strong enough to kill/attack you.

The bonus magic damage gives you a chance to kill "Minion 2" and "Minion 3", that's what I mean.

Kill minions = get gold

Important: Don't forget to ward your lane. A weaker enemy doesnt mean that the jungler(or anyone other) can't gank.

Double Strike(Passive)Is a really useful passive. Every 4th hit you make will be a 2 hits at once. Well it only uses 50% of the damage you could do but (!) it's 2 in 1 :D Well the thing is, that it works like a normal attack. You will get life (because of lifesteal) and this hit has a crit chance. And, because of the high attack speed that Highlander and Phantom Dancer cause you will be able to spam this Double Strike.
Alpha Strike(Q) is a very nice ability, you can use it to hit your enemys from far away. Use it to lasthit, farm, or to start a fight.
Cons:
If you use it on an opponent and he runs into his tower range, Alpha Strike will end at your enemy and you will propably die. Use it on minions near enemies, to hit them and dont die. ^{Check out "Farming" to learn how to use Alpha Strike, if you didn't already know}
Meditate(W) is an ability which heals you, but it isnt very good for AD. But it is still a nice ability, cause Meditate gives you alot of Magic Resistance and Attack Damage Defense so you can tank for your Team or help yourself in dangerous moments.
Wuju Style(E) is having a passive: It increases AD by 10%. The activation of this ability increase its effectiveness, and you have alot more damage. Its very nice for Fast tower destruction/1vs1 and jungling.
Highlander(R) is Master Yi's ultimate ability. It gives you (at level 18) +80% Attackspeed and Immunity to all slowdowns for 10 seconds. And also 45% extra movement speed. The special thing is, with every kill you make, while this ability is activated, the duration will increase for 4 seconds AND every other of Master Yi's abilitys get 70% cooldown reduction. Its the perfect ability for Teamfights/1vs1/fast tower destruction/(ks)/ganks and for escape.

Why this runes?

gives you some attack speed (surprise!). Well, but that is the reason why I took this runes. At the early you haven`t to get a high amount of Attack Speed and deal damage fast. So you take this runes and get more Attack Speed to kill your opponents fast in the "early game".

gives you Attack damage, too. Well, all of the runes I choosed give you attack damage. The more you have, the higher your Attack damage will be.

is a AD runes (again ...). I can't explain much. Runes give you something in the early, you normally wouldnt have. In this case it gives you more AD.

is the rune that gives you the highest amount of AD you can get.

I am pretty sure that you already recognized that this is a AD Guide. So you need a lot of AD. At the game start doesn`t deal enough damage without AD runes. With AD runes you can kill your enemies fast like I already told you.

This chapter is still in work but can be used already.

Summoner Spells

is one of the most useful spells you will find. It does damage to an enemy. Well, not only damage. If your opponent was on a higher level, it would does more damage. It can help you in 1vs1, laning and sometimes in teamfights.

is an spell, that supporter often use to help their AD Carry's, it slows down an enemy and it will be easier to catch him.

is just the opposite of , slows an enemy down.... But makes you faster.

is one of the most useful spells you will find, too. It flashes you to a position near you, so you can easily dodge enemy abilities, or can escape faster.

Who to focus? And who NOT?

Easy kills for Master Yi are particularly AD/AP Carrys which are alone.

Focus
(be careful when she is using )

yes Aatrox is an easy kill. Why? Because he has very low health in the early game. When he dies his passive will activate. Well you can use to heal yourself too.
In the late game, when he is tanky... dont focus him.
Some people play Aatrox on full AD, if they play against you and you use this guide.. they did a misstake. You can take him out easily :P

Keeper of the ancient art of Wuju, Master Yi is a mystical warrior from the isle of Ionia. He descended from one of the few tribes dedicated to the preservation of Wuju, a martial art founded with the principles of absolute spiritual awareness of one's self and one's enemy. When the armies of Noxus invaded Ionia, Master Yi joined in the Ionian defense to fight the craven enemy, bringing his village honor through his unparalleled mastery of the blade. The ensuing battles ravaged the land, but no conflict inflicted as much horror as the day the armies of Noxus closed in on Yi's village. Left undefended, the village became the unfortunate test subject of the latest invention by an up-and-coming chemist, now known as Singed. The remains of the village that Master Yi returned to were so horrific that it remains a festering scar on Ionian history. To this day, no Ionian will ever publicly speak of what occurred.

After the Noxian invasion was contained, Master Yi fell into a deep isolation. For years, he trained morning to night, speaking to no one and refusing offers of consolation by fellow Ionians. The only thing stopping him from madly charging into Noxus battle lines headfirst was his pledge to keep the Wuju style alive. Even though he seethed with impatience, his rage became a tool for sharpening his practice of Wuju, developing stronger and deadlier skills for his eventual vengeance. The only thing that roused him was news of the League's formation, and Noxus' subsequent enrollment in the League. Master Yi now brings his mastery of the blade to the League of Legends with unflinching purpose: to avenge his kinfolk and end the predations of the Noxus once and for all.
