Why get a phantom dance for a tank with low damage?

Good question! I've always felt that a tank that is not a threat cannot hold the attention of enemies beyond what he forces with his taunt. Phantom Dancer will proc Shen's passive more often and give him good MS and crit to boot. If they decide to ignore you because you are a tank, they will pay dearly for it.

... There is nothing except a pretty bad build... Your point as the tank is to TAUNT THEM if they break your shield, you cant throw out fast Ki Strikes. Zeke's herald is an overall bad item and you are support tank not tanky dps.

I tried this in a game, and I dont think that the phatom dancer is the right way to go. Your taunt is what keeps the enemies attention, not attack speed. I would trade in the zekes herald for a banshees veil and the phantom dancer for either an abyssal scepter for a little offensive power/mr or a guardian angel. This way you are able to taunt the enemies and survive as opposed to attack fast haha :P

Thanks for the constructive criticism. I've always thought guardian angel was sorta "meh". The defense boost on it is mediocre at best and in my experience the other team just hangs around to kill you again. I would ask that you try this one more time, but don't think of Shen as a tank. Think of him more like a cross between Shaco and Mundo. The idea here is to create a bunch of havoc so that the enemy team doesn't really know what to think, plus if you do get into a knockdown, drag out brawl with someone, you'll have a really high health regen to keep you alive while you dish out heavy hybrid damage. Simply put, messing with his role took him from one of my least favorites to my main champion. It takes a little getting used to, but once you do, he's a blast. Thanks again.

The guide looks ugly as phuck, but strangely I kinda like the idea with Zeke's Herald (donno why ), but you should exchange Phantom Dancer for Wit's End imo..

That's a good idea. Mostly I was trying to balance out his damage. His passive and his q gives him some pretty nice magic damage, and the phantom dancer is helpful for the physical. I'll give it a shot though and see how that works out. Thanks for checking it out.

Btw, sorry about the look. I'm lazy and I work long hours. I'll get around to prettying it up sometime next week probably.
