Go check the highest rated AP Sion build and tell me if theres a Lich Bane in it. ;]
If youre not playing ABSOLUTELY at the top of your game, Lich Bane loses alot of its power.
You need to have the AP to really make it shine.
Not only that, AP Sion shouldnt be in the middle of team fights meleeing.
If you have Death's Caress activated, and someone pops it due to being in melee range, guess who just lost a huge nuke? You did.

Ive only played AP Sion once in 3v3, and even though i won it, AP Sion performs MUCH better in 5v5, as all champs generally do. More farm, longer games, more champ kils, more everything. ALL champs shine more in 5v5 than 3v3.

i see what u mean by by not picking lich bane but ive been getting lich bane for Sion from the first time i started playing him and i never really had trouble whit it works fine and i love yous sion build btw
I've been playing Sion for about 500 games. And the best way to play sion is definatly DPS, it's early,mid and late game. It's really perfect, AP Sion can be really good in 3v3, but it's not good enough to play it in 5v5.
i just play 2 ranked 5v5 games in a row as AP Sion never tryed out dps but i have seen play it i dont like it that much compared to AP Sion

No real point to Sheen/Lich Bane, since AP Sion shouldnt be sitting there meleeing.
Also, Archangel Staff isnt really converting much to his AP, since he doesnt have a large mana pool for that 3% to really benefit him.
one of the best sion build has lichbnae and when u use ur shield u have to locse so why not auot attack? lichbane adds so much to pushing power with him to the Magic resis/mana is good
