Ok, but what is the point of stacking a second mana item instead of more AP?

It directly builds off of the Tear of the Goddess's Mana Charge: it carries over whether you upgrade it to Archangel's Staff or Manamune.

Flawed logic. You could say that Mana Manipulator, Berserker's Greaves, and Blade of the Ruined King are options with that logic, since they all build out of components in a section of your build.

I still have Muramana because it IS an option at least, since it builds off the Tear of the Goddess as well. Even though I don't use it myself, I still have it in my item set just in case.

I think I've overused the term 'squishy' a bit much as is, haha. I recognize the change in connotation, though, and I'll see what I can do about that.

Thanks again!

So glad you considered my ideas. Just two last notes in response to what you said.

If Muramana itself is already a bad choice, and you yourself aren't recommending it, wouldn't it just be better to leave it out of the guide entirely? In all honesty it's pretty much not a viable item on Soraka so there's no benefit in including it as an option.

For cons, the better one might be that Soraka is a really fragile champion (squishy). It's both true and encompasses everything that comes with it, including a possible higher risk of dying. It's a small change but worth thinking about, you can elaborate on being squishy more than being easily killed.

Most of those last two points is minor and up to your preference. Best of luck with the guide!

Wow, very detailed, thank you so much!

I agree completely with Deathfire Grasp being a better fit for burst mages, which is another reason why I have Zhonya's Hourglass first, but the fact that it gives 120 AP as well as a passive for CDR makes it worth it in my opinion.

I thought long and hard about Athene's Unholy Grail, but I ultimately decided against putting it in. I'm not sure why I did, so I'll go ahead and do so. I feel like an idiot now, though.

In regards to boots, I used to usually put in for Ionian Boots of Lucidity as opposed to Sorcerer's Shoes (mainly for the CDR), but I tended to feel that my gold was probably better invested in other areas, which is why I started utilizing Teleport.

Haha, my runes are DEFINITELY still a big work in progress. There are many kinks I'm trying to work out myself, which I'll be adjusting as time goes on. I also don't know why I had the Quint of Scaling AP in there, because I have just a flat Quint for AP in mine, and the same goes for the Seals of Armor. I'll definitely take your advice here, though, because I certainly could use it, haha.

Eh, for some reason I don't like Doran's Ring. I think it's because I like building into my later items, with Sapphire Crystal and Tear of the Goddess both working towards Archangel's Staff (turning into Seraph's Embrace).

Exactly, which is why I don't use it. However, I thought that I might throw it in there in case someone wants to buy an additional Tear of the Goddess, but it isn't too good of any idea to invest in that (which I stated in my guide). The only time I would personally even consider this is if the game I'm in is starting to push an hour in length, haha. I did add in that I do not advise it, which is something I should've done beforehand.

I said that not to set a mentality but instead to be honest. It is a con after all. The title even says that this build is for a glass cannon, so I was making a point regarding that. I also tend to be a bit too blunt at times, which probably doesn't help. I've edited a bit to address this as well.

In regard to your final note, I'm currently working on that. I wrote this mainly during the maintenance the other day, and I didn't feel at the time to fit in the URLs to items and such - I was more focused on getting thoughts into words. I am working on fixing all of that now.

All in all, thank you so much for your comment! It's called constructive criticism for a reason, right? It's good to have feedback to build off of!

Not so sure about your build.

Deathfire Grasp is more for burst mages which Soraka really isn't. Even in a full AP build like this she's better for massive sustained damage with Starcall.

Athene's Unholy Grail is an item you really should consider. It's very strong againts mages, it's fairly cheap, it gives you lots of CDR which raka loves, and it gives you massive mana regeneration so you can still spam your spells hard in lane.

No boots? Soraka has really low mobility as it is, so she can be pretty easy to get away from or dive onto. Boots will help a lot with this by allowing you to stay in line with the other champions. I'd recommend Sorcerer's Shoes to add even more to your insane flat magic penetration.

Your runes are kind of weird. Running scaling everything won't help you early on in the game at all, which is what runes really are helpful for. They give you a boost to your early presence, helping you remain strong in lane before you can become powerful with items. You can still run some scaling runes but the ones you took (Seals Scaling of AP?, Quints of Scaling CDR?), the way you set them up (almost no durability, none for the early game, no magic pen) and the fact you lack any flat runes isn't going to be beneficial as other setups.. If you want to look into this then try things like Greater Quintessence of Ability Power, Greater Mark of Magic Penetration and Greater Seal of Health. It's a nice mix of early damage and durability.

For starting items try Doran's Ring. It gives you more mana sustain, some durability, and some damage, everything you want early on.

Muramana is a really bad choice. The AP you end up getting with the extra mana is only 30, the extra mana sustain is unnecessary, the AD is useless, the toggle damage has very little synergy with Soraka and two tears takes a long time to stack where you could get better stats sooner.

You said in your guide "You will die". Not true at all. That's an awful mentality to have going into a game considering your trying to not die. On any champion you run the risk of getting killed but you should never just assume that it's going to happen, it's pointless and false. I don't have much more to say about your guide except coding would make it nice to look at and easier to follow and game play explanation you help with actually playing Soraka.
