Thank you very much for all your guides!

I'd like to ask you a question... If I'm on a team, where mid-late game nobody wants to help me warding, should I just take the risk and do it by myself or should I just not ward the spots that aren't absolutely safe? It's pretty annoying that if you take the risk and get killed, everyone flames you and if you don't ward you get flamed too for not warding. I haven't been playing support for a very long time, I still make mistakes every game and I have a lot to learn, but these teammates just make it impossible for me to do my job right. What would you recommend in such a situation?

I am currently a level 25 and just recently decided that I want to main support. I have played every other role I figured this is a good thing but not playing ranked I wouldn't know.

I concur with the above statements of praise: I love your guides and THANK YOU for doing an incredible job writing and researching them. Very helpful.

An item-to-stat efficiency comparison assumes that you're buying the item for the stats in the first place though.

Very good guide, but I feel your debate on GP10 is a little flawed...

If you purchased basic mana and HP regen items alone, you'd have invested more money than what's required to buy a philosopher's stone. It's not fair to expect a GP10 item to pay for the gold making part of itself as well as all the other bonuses. So actually, yes, philosopher's stone does actually give you "free money" as soon as you buy it. in fact, you get a tiny refund!

I forget the actual math, but I think you'll find Kage's lucky pick actually just takes 4-5 minutes to pay for the gold producing part of itself.

But I do agree that buying an item FOR the GP10 is a waste, especially if you can't benefit from the other stats on said item. Because then you actually do end up waiting for half the game to be over before getting "free money". In the meantime, that gold could have been put to better use securing you assists or keeping you alive.

Just wondering, with the recent bump to the sightstone's cost and the integration of the precursor Ruby what are your thoughts on it and where it should be in a typical support's build?

@Lord&Master: This guide is broad/general and covers topics like what Sightstone is for and gives you an idea about setting wards. Peeling is a very champion specific subject -- not every support can even peel with their own skill kit.

~

Updates: I recently updated my Nami guide w/links and stuff for this general guide. But since Crystalline Flask is being nerfed in the next big game update, I've decided to hold off on finishing updates and such, as it seems like I will need to make a big update pending some testing. :o

Maybe I missed it but is there something about peeling? Because every time I play a support, I got to act like a mini tank or at least take a few skillshots instead of my carry. I do not see supports doing it that often which ends pretty often in their carries death. Ofc. you don't want to die unnecessary but a support without his carry is not worth that much I guess...
