yea i was thinking Athene's Unholy Grail was the optimal item over Zhonya's Hourglass since the person you mid against is usually AP not AD.

You can consider Zhonya's Hourglass personally I like the idea of Athene's Unholy Grail but it could also be in an optional build

Alright i got Flash put in in place of Ignite and fixed the guide for that. If that was the main reason for a downvote please change it. Thanks for all the advice. And @Jayzorz: It can be tough to get blue buff in the laning phase as a jungler needs it more but if there is a better item in place of Athene's Unholy Grail please let me know.

Yea, I agree. The advantage of Karthus is that he deals insane DPS whilst having a global ultimate and he can keep killing people why dead.

This is why I personally thing Flash is VITAL on Karthus, so you can position where you want you're passive to take effect, also so you can escape as Karthus is a 'statue champ'.

It's not a bad guide, but I think that Flash would improve it, and if you can get blue buff you mightn't need Athene's Unholy Grail, especially given you can cast spells for free during Death Defied.

I see this definently working for some normal games but perhaps not ranked, but still, it doesn't say ranked so I won't downvote.

Here are a few notes
-boots is a little late
-no real escape, if a jungler ganks you will most likely die
-I suggest replacing ignite with flash for escapes OR getting boots a little bit early

I like the build, but you need some rune planners,item planners and mastery planners +1 tho good job
