Talon isn't a fighter, he's an assassin. That's why he's got "zero" survivabilty in team fights.
An Oracle isn't going to stop a talon unless they have some hard cc, which is common in this game, but not as commmon on the "tanks" people play, which are the ones you need to worry about. Shen, Rammus, and amumu are the only tanks you need to worry about with an oracles. Its not hard to take out a caster that has an oracles. If you're trying to 1v1 someone as any stealth assassin and they have oracles, you're doin it wrong and not using your teammates at all.
Yes, you're q does reset your attack timer, but that's more time its on cooldown during the fight if you wait for that first hit. The nimation time on his auto attack bothers me a little too much to do that as well. As for why I prep it first. There have been multiple occasions where if I tried to wait for the auto attack I would have been silenced before I could hit it. 1v1 another talon for example
Talon is about burst damage and knowing when to be in a team fight and when not to be.
@persl
This guide is mostly for solo midding. Your rake does offer great harassment, but q is better for guarenteeing last hits and has a much larger burst at +90 ad than rake does.
Forgive any typos on this post, my internets dead so I'm posting this from my phone.
Also, as a matter of fact, Q resets your autoattack timer, so prepping it is the worst thing you can do. Jump, attack again with Q gives you two attacks instead of one..
