Introduction

First guide... Too many bad Talon's so I thought I would share my success...

Talon is a great hero. He is still new, so most Talon's are bad. They don't realize that he is a glass cannon, and barely a cannon when you compare him to most other AD champs.

He is the perfect companion to Vayne, so if you enjoy her, you will probably enjoy Talon. Opposite is probably true.

Pros / Cons

PROS
Blink Initiation (don't initiate)
ULT Shadow Assault doubles as an escape.
ULT Shadow Assault can deal heavy AD damage to score multiple kills, or assists in team fights.
Great farmer, just go into the creeps and "rake" in the dough... $$$

CONS
VERY low HP (squishyyyyyyy)
VERY low AS (AD burst and run)
VERY succeptible to CC
ALWAYS focused due to low hp for an easy kill

Runes

I go with FLAT Armor Greater Seal of Armor and FLAT MR Greater Glyph of Magic Resist runes because I found that I cant last hit effectively due to low hp and defense. Nevermind harassing the enemy with E CUTTHROAT -> Q Noxian Diplomacy -> W Rake.

Feel free to swap out my runes for more HP. I just found that early laning is the most challenging, so this setup helps. I tried Greater Seal of Evasion and Greater Seal of Vitality and neither worked as well. This also supplements the item build very well... just trust me.

Masteries

I take AD because it will help you farm, and assassinate, which is your role.

I take DEF tree because again, Talon is squishyyy, say it with me now... squishhhhy. It will also complement the item build... just trust me again.

Items

I tried multiple openers. An alternative is Boots + 3 Health Potion. However, If found this setup helps me harass and farm with Rake so get your Philosopher's Stone ASAP.

After Philosopher's Stone, get Boots, some more Health Potion (if your harassing like you should) and a Sight Ward for the river bush.

Now Rush B. F. Sword so you get some auto attack damage and + skill damage. Next, finish your Bloodthirster and feed it your enemies blood until it grows to +40 DMG and +15 LL. (Another reason not to die...)

NOW MOST IMPORTANTLY

Everyone's damage has incrased, and you will die if you dont get survivability. But what synergizes with Mercy? Phage. + % Slow + Rake = Kite and harasass. It gives you the boost of HP you need to keep in the positive K/D. Finish this into Frozen Mallet as soon as possible. It makes you more better in your awesomeness.

You should be raking the entire group of mobs leaving 1 auto attack kills. FARM FARM FARM FARM. RAKE RAKE RAKE RAKE. You must have items to reach your potential.

After you get Frozen Mallet, the game is almost over, usually. In the rare 50m+ games youll get an Infinity Edge. Now you can jump the other team squishy because you are a fast, kiting, invisible, blade wielding bastard of death!

On a final note, if I get my Infinity Edge, I usually just use pots for the extra HP until I can afford a game specific final item. My game specific item is usually Trinity Force for double burst damage and even more MS.

Skillzzz

Mercy (Passive): Talon deals 10% additional damage with his autoattacks to any target that is slowed, stunned, immobilized or suppressed.

(Active): Talon's next autoattack deals additional physical damage. If the target is a champion, they will bleed, taking additional physical damage and revealing their location for the duration.

(Active): Talon sends out a volley of daggers that then quickly return back to him, dealing physical damage every time it passes through an enemy. This means that each enemy can be damaged up to two times. Additionally the enemy is slowed for 2 seconds.

CUTTHROAT (Active): Talon instantly appears behind his target, silencing them for 1 second and amplifying his damage against that target for 3 seconds.

(Active): Talon disperses a ring of blades and gains stealth for up to 2.5 seconds while gaining 40% movement speed. When Talon emerges from stealth, the blades converge on his location. Each time a blade passes through an enemy, they receive physical damage. Each enemy can only be damaged once at the start of the ability and once at the end.

Team Work

As said above, do not initiate. Wait for your tank to go in and stun. Take out the most dangerous first. Make sure you don't take the initial burst of CC.

If you get focused POP your ULT Shadow Assault early, it is better to run and live, then to stay for the kill and die.

MOST IMPORTANTLY, WHEN PLAYING TALON REALIZE THAT YOU ARE NOT A CARRY. You will need a good balanced team to win, regardless of you kill count.

DANGERS TO YOU
Karthus Requiem
Lux Finales Funkeln
Singed

You'll have balanced stats, but the first two deal heavy AP damage of over 800 after resistence by end game. You don't have much to spare, especially if you take ANY damage in the fight.

Singed is beast because he is just as fast, if not faster. He will slow, pop you, drain you hp, and you won't scratch him.

Learning Progression

First game was a random guide with a focus on offense. It got me kills, but it got me deaths.

I tried the same build again, this time they had a proper team with plenty of CC. SHUT DOWN.

After that, I started my build. After these adjustments, and practice, I'm now getting 3x more K than D. I think that's what we all want.
