Choose Champion Build:

  • LoL Champion: Talon
  • LoL Champion: Talon

Hai!

Hai, this is my first build on this website, i'm new to this, I hope you will get good tips and will make use of this guide!

This build is made with .125 patch, and I will update it if they modify Talon.

Plans:

-Adjusting the build with more tips, especially harassing and farming
-Talon in Dominion

Introduction

Talon is a really combo based character. He has low mana costs, and in a longer teamfight he can use his ultimate 3-4 times, and that means, you must play him as a combo based burst champion, like Brand. Deal out tons of damage then backup a bit, then jump in again. He is both good on solo top, or duo bot.

Pros / Cons

Pros:
-Good laning phase
-Awesome ability ratios
-Insane burst from lvl 6 to the end of the game

Cons:
-First its hard to be precise with landing your slow after the blink
-Low lategame hp for a melee character

Runes

Greater Mark of Desolation x9
x9
x9
Greater Quintessence of Desolation x3

The reason I choose these are the following:

Armor Penetration: Talon's damaging abilities deal physical damage, so armor penetration is a must have rune type for Talon
Armor: There is 2 option where will you lane, solo top or duo bot. At bot you will face against an AD carry for sure, and its good to have some resistance against him/her, and most of the time, you will face against an ad tanky guy at top. Resist is good for laning.
Cooldown: As I already said Talon is a combo based character, and sooner he get back his abilities, the sooner he will deal the damage again.

Masteries

This 21/0/9 Masterypage will allow you to increase your damage output (what is the best think for an assassin type character), to have a bit better laning and experience gain.

Items

Playing as a burst ad caster is very fun, and to deal a lot of damage, you must have a LOT of ad to be effective. Thats why I use the following build:

With this build, you will deal tons of damage in 2 second.

Why these items?

Ionian Boots of Lucidity: Same thing with the cooldown runes, you can start your combo way faster with this.

Last Whisper: Early Last Whisper will increase you W's damage so hard, that with a single lvl 5 Rake will burst down your enemy's hp by 1/4. And it also good in lategame.

The Bloodthirster: Damage and lifesteal. You also get more damage and lifesteal when killing something. I think i don't have to explain this to you.

Infinity Edge: Again, do I have to explain this?

Guardian Angel: Because even if you are just bursting, and kill people immediately, EVERY character needs some kind of defensive item, and it gives you nice stats + a second life.

Note, that Mercury's Treads are very viable on Talon aswell.

How to start

x3 or -->

In solo lane, I like to get Boots and 3 Health Potion. When I go back, I buy 1-2 Doran's Blade (depending on how good can you lane against your enemy) and some Health Potion and Sight Ward. Then, last hit as much as you can, harass the enemy, and go back for your Last Whisper.

In duo lane, start with a Dorans Blade. When you go back buy your Boots and a Pickaxe + 2 Health Potion. If you have 475g remaining, feel free to buy another Doran's Blade. Again, when you go back the second time, make sure you can buy your Last Whisper.

After you done with these, farm, gank and follow the item list.

Teamfighting

In teamfights, always come from an alternative path, and jump on the ad/ap carry following this combo:

Blink in with Cutthroat, and immediately use Shadow Assault. While stealthed, walk to the back of the enemy, to hit him and the most other enemy with your Rake. Land a normal hit, then as fast as you can, use your Noxian Diplomacy. This will burst down the enemy ad/ap carry, if this didn't killed him/her, then max 2 basic attack will finish him/her.

Summary

So basically, that's how I recommend you to use Talon. With 2, maximum 3 game you will master him, and I hope you will find joy in bursting down raging QQ kids :D
