Chapter 1

Tankplank?? WTH? Now some of you may be thinking," Why would someone ever want to be tankplank when they could be the better critplank like I always am?" Well critplank may work for you perfectly fine but for me I end up raging when I have 78% crit and NEVER crit heroes ( I crit creeps every hit though). *Now partial credit for this build has to go to Pwnzorkarl (remember to spam him with friend requests) for giving me the idea for this build.*

BUILD EXPLANATION:

Some of you may be wondering just how exactly this build works, well ill tell you. The enemies NEVER expect this. They always see gangplank and think ZOMG critplank everyone target him! Well, when they make this mistake you end up absorbing most of the damage and the enemy is left clueless. They look at your build and have a nice little chuckle and dont focus you next fight. (Here's where it gets fun :D) When they start targetting other people all you have to do is drop some parrleys, ignite, and eat some yummy citrus. Then let your extremely awesome passive go to work and by the end of the fight you have about half hp, and usually around 2 maybe 3 kills. The enemies are still baffled and you just chuckle away while destroying their nexus.

ITEM EXPLANATION:

The first item you should get is a regrowth pendant and an HP pot or mana pot (depending on if you have those mana regen runes!) I usually tend to stay in the lane untill i have warmogs. Be careful in early game because you might tend to forget you are tankplank and not critplank. A little interesting thing with your Raise Morale is that you can use it on the Seige (Big) creeps to deny a good bit of XP and also use it on a friendly for a free Warmog point. After Warmogs get a Ninja Tabi and a Cloak of Agility for your Atma's if you can afford it. [To be honest a good 60% of my games end here so dont be sad if you cant finish your build.] Once you have Warmogs and your boots you can start to feel pretty comfortable in team fights. Now once you finish your Atma's it starts to get FUN. The Ayma's is THE KEY to this build. It gives you everything you want : Armor Crit and Damage. Its usually an 80% GG here for me. If the game is STILL dragging on buy a Sunfire Cape OR if they are pretty caster-heavy go straight to your Force of Nature. Now if your game is STILL going on well then...

LANING AND GANKING PHASE:

This is pretty simple: play defensively until you get warmogs then you can start ganking and fighting. (told you it was simple)

HOW TO USE YOUR ULT:

Ahhh, the question among all the Plankers (LOL) when to use your ult. Well, to be honest here, use it just about however / whenever you want AS LONG as you keep it ready if theres about to be a team fight. IMPORTANT: Now what you NEVER EVER!! want to do with your ult is initiate. What you want to do is wait just a fraction of a second after initiation and use it a little behind or in front of the Team fight area (depending if you've been losing or winning your fights) At this point whatever the enemy team does its a lose-lose. If they stay more dmg from your ulti and if they run they take a lot of damage from yer mates. Another trick you can use with your ult is to cut off an escape route and make the enemy run to your mates. For some reason the enemy is so freaked out by your murderous laugh he poops himself and runs straight into you mates' arms (its pretty funny to watch).. Just remember your ult can MAKE or BREAK the team fight so placement is key.

***IF YOU ARE MID***

If for some reason your team lets you go mid then your first point MUST go to Raise Moral. What you want to do is stand by your nexus until the creeps spawn. At that moment use it on the melee creep and continue to run with them. Use it again ASAP on the other melee creep. Now once the creeps start fighting what you want to do is save your raise morale for the Siege tanks. Dont even let the enemy see it. KILL ON SIGHT!!
Doing this is very important because the less creeps there are for the enemy to kill means the less exp he is going to get. This makes gangplank not a bad choice for mid since it means starving the enemy's carry some exp. For further information about this strategy please visit Chineseflame's strategy, Gangplank : DENY. His strategy goes much deeper into laning mid with gangplank. (CAUTION: while waiting at your Nexus, you may experience an excess of pinging and be called a "Noob." Please ignore these comments and continue with your job.)

***Alternative Item Build***

Proprosed by poporo: After your Atma's Impaler go for a BF Sword, Infinity Edge, then Frozen Mallet. You will become a glorious form of a damaging, tanking critplank. I admit that i like this build a lot. Go this way if you have a great tank like rammus or shen etc.

CHANGE: I just changed the item sequence. Get Frozen Mallet after atma's, it will give your parrley a slow and give you more HP and dmg (34). After, proceed to an inf edge or MAYBE a FoN if you are missing any type of a tank.

Thanks for reading this guide and thumbing it up guys ^.^

IF YOUR LAZY AND DON'T WANT TO READ OR HAVEN'T FIGURED OUT THERES A CHEAT SHEET BUTTON:
