This guide will be on the rarely seen dps Soraka. This guide will help you lane effectively and still get ok heals out. This guide mainly focuses on the way to build Soraka and wont be as well detailed as I am new to making builds and guides. Any feedbeck would be helpful.
The 3 paths
My first guide focuses on armour which shouild be used against high damage enemies. It gives you quite a bit of sustainability and escape options. My second focuses on magic resist and should be used when versing peole like Karthus or Lux as the Banshee Veil blocks their Ultimate. I reccomend these two paths for more skilled players of dps Soraka. The final path is one I reccomend for anyone. This build focuses on absoulutely raping your enemies in ranged combat.
These runes are my basic runes for any squishy I play as, but runes are all dependent on your personal preferance. I use the Marks of Desolation to get that edge begginging game against those unsuspecing enemies. The Seals and Glyphs are mainly for the purpose of early game defense so your not as squishy and my Quintessences help with her early health problem.
The offense masteries I chose where for the purpose of giving a better heal and her q which i will explain later. I love the defensive tree, I always use it. Here in particular I used it for early game defense and the 4% increase in ability power and attack speed.
Skills and how to use them
This is pretty basic.
Strikes nearby enemy units for 60/90/120/150/180 (+0.25) magic damage and reduces their Magic Resistance by 8 for 8 seconds. This effect stacks up to 20 times. Cost:40/50/60/70/80 Mana, Range:630
This skill is great spammed and one of the reasons I spam it while chasing. I also use this so that my Malady does that much extra damage.
[W] Astral Blessing
Restores 60/120/180/240/300 (+0.9) health and grants 20/35/50/65/80 bonus armor for 4 seconds. Cost:90/110/130/150/170 Mana, Range:650
I use this skill when I'm low on health or just as a general support ability.
On Ally Cast: Restores 25/50/75/100/125 mana to the target, and an equal amount to self. (Double gain on self cast.) On Enemy Cast: Silences the target for 1/1.5/2/2.5/3 second(s) and deals 50/100/150/200/250 (+0.6) magic damage. No Cost, Range:725.
Probably your best chance to survive against scary enemies and use your dps effectively. Because this ability silences for 3 seconds you can do quite a bit including intterupting. Use this alot to harass and give yourself mana when you need it.
Instantly restores 200/320/440 (+1.3) health to herself and all allied champions. Cost:200/275/350 Mana, Range:25000
Probably one of the few skills in this game that can make the difference in destroying a turret and not destroying one or getting an ace and being aced.
