The Attack Damage is a plus and so is the base AP, for those of you that don't pay attention, yes pantheon has ap ratios, and yes they are 1/1 damage conversion, why pass up an item like this, the passive is even synergistic with HSS, and you receive about 115 ap just from this item, the attack speed helps you bash towers mid to late game, and early game as well if you acquire it in time.If you don't like this item, or want an alternative a Hextech GunBlade does the trick as well, supplying AD and AP and a not to shabby active as well.

Pantheon isn't exactly an ability-spamming champion. Sure, his spells have good AP scaling, but you have to realize that you usually don't manage to deal all that much damage with your ultimate unless you get really lucky, and that Aegis is almost always used to follow up into an easy Heartseeker Strike. The vast majority of your damage comes from what? Attack damage. Guinsoo's is wasteful, in my opinion.

In a recent patch they changed items so where the black cleaver actually hurts last whispers passive, making it a much less desirable item

You don't have early game mana pool which means you will be useless in early game.

You get boots way too late in the game. Rageblade is an aweful item for Panth...
