Introduction
Leona is one of the best tanks in the League with her massive armor steroid on her W and her amazing crowd control abilities, this is why I'm fond of jungling her.
Leona's kit is very suitable for jungling, with her two stuns and a snare her ganks are almost impossible to escape from. While she isn't considered a conventional jungler, she shows a lot of promise even on the competitive scene.
The runes you use for jungling Leona are different from the ones you would use to support with her.

Starting Items
These are your core items, you'll be building these almost every game with a few exceptions. For example, if your support or top laner is already building Runic Bulwark don't build one too, their auras don't stack!
You'll upgrade your Hunter's Machete into Spirit of the Ancient Golem, the perfect item for tanky junglers. The reason I build this over Wriggle's Lantern is that you're not going to be dueling the enemy jungler or looking for one on one fights in lane so the lifesteal is wasted.
Iceborn Gauntlet is an amazing item, even if it does have ability power. While Leona's AP scaling is rather low, you take the item for its built in slow. If you can land a Zenith Blade you can stick to the enemy extremely well.
These items are situational, meaning you only build them when you have to. For example, zeke's herald would be an appropriate item to build if you had an AD heavy team comp. Twin Shadows would be built to counter stealth champions like Akali Kha'Zix and Rengar
Sunlight is Leona's passive. When struck by one of Leona's abilities, enemies become affected by sunlight, and the next attack made against the target will consume the effect and deal additional damage. While Leona can't trigger her passive with her own attacks her allies can, this means that you can trigger it three times (four at level 6) each gank for an incredible boost in damage.
Shield of Daybreak is Leona's primary stun. When activated, Leona's next attack will stun the target for 1.25 seconds. Shield of Daybreak resets your auto-attack timer, so keep this in mind when clearing jungle camps!
Eclipse is what makes Leona so tanky, Eclipse grants Leona 30 armor and magic resist and after 3 seconds does magic damage to all enemies around her. If you hit an enemy with the damage component of Eclipse, you retain the armor and magic resistance for another 3 seconds.
Zenith Blade is Leona's initiation and gap closing tool. It's a 700 range skillshot with a built in snare. Keep in mind that Zenith Blade will pull Leona to the last target hit, so consider your target carefully.
Solar Flare is Leona's ultimate, it's an AoE targeted ability with a slow and a stun component. Enemies directly in the middle of the blast will be stunned, while enemies further away will be slowed. This ability has a low cooldown, so don't be afraid to use it, just try and hit as many people as possible!

These are the standard summoner spells I use, however taking Exhaust over Flash is fine too.
You can use Flash for just about anything. It's the best summoner spell ever. You can use this for escaping, jumping walls, chasing down kills, etc.
Please don't jungle without Smite. Please. No explanation needed here, you take this to last hit buffs, dragon and Baron Nashor.

You'll want to start your jungle route at wraiths. Have your mid and bot lane help you. It's really important that you let your team know not to attack any of the small wraiths as they'll be affected by Sunlight from your W. Once wraiths are down take your red buff, your blue buff and wolves. If you're healthy enough, take wraiths but if not just go back and buy your spirit stone.
I find Leona an incredibly fun and versatile champion and wish to bring her out of the bot lane support role and into the jungle. In my opinion, Leona has the capability of being a conventional jungler, all she needs are people willing to play her! Jungling Leona may be harder than most other picks, but in the end it is most definitely worth it.
