Support lane is a misunderstood lane.That's because the majority of summoners believe that support role is boring,very easy and had not carry potentionals.Well the truth is that all that are nonsense.Support role is(alongside with jungle) the most hard and difficult lane to play in.It requires a lot of skills,make right calls and to have a lot of experience in general.I hope this guide will be interisting and helpful for all those that wish to play a op support with carry games pontetionals.That support is (my main and favourite champ) ZYRA The rise of the thornes.
Pros / Cons
+Strong early game
+Hard spam on enemies
+Even with supp build she can do a great deal o magic damage
+Ulty which can change the whole teamfight
+with her passive the possibilites of losing a kill (If your adc can't get it ofc) are equal to 0
-No shields,heals etc
-Requires a lot of skillshots
Zyra is very squishy and because she has not any escape ability exhaust is the best option for her to survive a gank.As we all know flash is a spell that all champ needs.
0/9/21 is a fairly normal mastery setup for supports. It provides some tankiness from the 9 that will help you survive all ins during the laning phase. The 21 utility provides more for a support than any of the other trees.For more information check the mastery map at the top.
Zyra can harass the enemy botline either using her abilities or autoattacks.So having magic and armor penetration can do a great deal of damage o the enemy adc.
Magic Resist Glyph
Zyra can be poked as well by champ like sona annie morgana and so on.So having magic resist may save your life.
You are playing against adc and because you are very squishy there is a possibilitie to focus on you so armor is the best option.
Quint of AP
Zyra can do a lot of magic damage without a single item of ap.Imagine what she can do with ap runes.
Rise of the Thorns(Passive)
Upon death, Zyra returns to her plant form for up to 8 seconds. After 2 seconds, she gains the ability to cast Vengeful Thorn using any learned ability.
Rise of the Thorns VENGEFUL THORN - ACTIVE: Zyra spits a vengeful thorn in the direction of the cursor, dealing 80 + (20 x Zyra's level) true damage to every enemy it passes through.
This is very tricky passive cause it can kill a unit in case no one else of your team can't rich him or it can do damae so your teamplayers kill him

Deadly Bloom is a ranged nuke that you should spam on enemies as much as possible. It is a long ranged harass ability. It has a short delay so try to put the enemy in the middle of your cursor before you cast Deadly Bloom, so they can't run out of the damage.Cooldown: 7/6.5/6/5.5/5 seconds,ANGE: 800 COST: 75 / 80 / 85 / 90 / 95 MANA,
MAGIC DAMAGE: 70 / 105 / 140 / 175 / 210 (+ 65% AP)
RAMPANT GROWTH:If Deadly Bloom hits a seed, a Deadly Bloom Thorn Spitter grows that lasts for 10 seconds. Thorn Spitters have a long ranged attack and deal 23 + (6.5 × Zyra's level) (+ 20% AP) magic damage.
PASSIVE: Zyra gains bonus cooldown reduction.
COOLDOWN REDUCTION: 2 / 4 / 6 / 8 / 10%
ACTIVE: Zyra plants a seed at a target location for 30 seconds, granting sight of a small area around it. If one of Zyra's basic abilities hits a seed, a plant will grow that automatically attacks nearby enemies. Extra plants striking the same target deal 50% less damage.
Zyra periodically stores a seed and can hold up to 2 at a time, and can only have 4 seeds placed at any one time.
After 1.5 seconds, enemy champions can step on a seed to destroy it - but will be revealed for 2 seconds.
RANGE: 850 COST: 1 SEED RECHARGE TIME: 16.7 / 15.4 / 14.1 / 12.9 / 11.7
You can make a little camp of these in a bush and wait for someone to come in and have 4 plants up at once.
CTIVE: Zyra sends vines forward in a line, dealing magic damage and rooting enemies hit for a short duration.
PROJECTILE SPEED: 1150
MAGIC DAMAGE: 60 / 95 / 130 / 165 / 200 (+ 50% AP)
ROOT DURATION: 0.75 / 1 / 1.25 / 1.5 / 1.75
Rampant Growth.png RAMPANT GROWTH: If Grasping Roots hits a seed, a Grasping Roots Vine Lasher grows that lasts for 10 seconds. Vine Lasher have a short ranged attack that deals 23 + (6.5 × Zyra's level) (+ 20% AP) magic damage and slows enemies hit by 30% for 2 seconds.
Don't spam it, patience is needed for good Grasping Roots its your only stan !!!
CTIVE: Summons the fury of nature, growing a twisted thicket at the target location which deals magic damage to all enemies in the area as it expands. After 2 seconds, the vines snap upward knocking enemies into the air for 1 second.
MAGIC DAMAGE: 180 / 265 / 350 (+ 70% AP)
Rampant Growth.png RAMPANT GROWTH: Plants within the thicket are enraged, increasing their attack speed by 50%.Cooldown: 130/120/110 seconds,RANGE: 700 COST: 100 / 120 / 140 MANA
Counter Engage: If an enemy team is engaging upon you, throw this down on top of as many enemies as possible, or on your carries so the enemies have to run away from them or get knocked up.
Because you are support the first item you have o buy is sightstone in order to control the map.Magic penetrstion should come next but in case you enemies harrassing you it would be better to buy armor or magic resist.Liandries, Rylais, Zhonyas, Morellonomicon, Void Staff and so on are good choices as long as you wanna do more magic damage.Remember mikael's is a very useful item but only if the nemy team has champ with stuns,knock ups etc.If they don't it would be better not buy it.
Zyra counters annie easily.You have long range and a lot of harass so you can destroy her.Just make sure not to get stunned buy her passive.This cn be succed by using your plants in order to make it very difficult for her to come close to you
Zyra cab harass Thresh with her E.Stay behind minions and if you can't find one use 2 plants and Q or E in order to block thresh Q.
The tricky part against Braum is to E him when he is landing a Q on you.If you try to approach him otherwise you may die on ganks so be careful.
This matcup is even,so the most skilled one will win.Before lvl 4 you can bully her but after that she will try to ger all in on you.Remeber what we did with thresh just keep your E and use plants to block her tremendus E.
Zyra can be a conquer on earky game becaue of her harass.Save mana and make it very difficult for the enemy adc to farm when you rich lvl 4 you can get all in with your adc and take a kill.Remember you need wards to survive a gank or even avoid it.
Zyra can proved to be effective ganker but she is mostly a peeler.Because of her squishy nature and her slow movement make a gank is very dangerous.It is better to peeling for your adc and help him farm.Of course if you see an easy gank and you are sure about the kill then you should go and take advantage on it.
You should stay back with your adc and harass peel.Use E and 2 plants to anynone that try to dive your adc or your mid lane.Make sure to catch as match as you can on your ulty in order to win the teamfight.Also you must take control of the map by using wards and your W.Make traps so if the enemy team come close grab them wih your E use ulty and Q+2 plants and you get your team an ace.
