I've been playing Varus since he has been release and I find him to be a very fun champion and I've been working on becoming better. I was using what is currently the top build for him and I was doing really well. But I recently found the Black Cleaver and wanted use it in a build for Varus because it seemed like an overlooked item. I tried it in a few games and did very well. The first time I tried to build it I was a little slow so I died several times but once it was up I was golden.

This is my first guide and I will continue to test Items and Summoner Spells. Give me your input on what should be removed, added, or would just make this more useful.

I personally haven't gotten all the runes yet but these seem to be very strong and work together. Right now I'm disputing which quintessence that I want to use. Currently I'm trying to get the utility quintessence for movement speed, Great Quintessence of Swiftness. I figure this is a good rune to get because the speed allows me to catch champs that are running away or run away myself to avoid getting ganked.

Right now I'm playing with the items. It's a toss between Frozen Mallet and Madred's Bloodrazor. The reason I like the Frozen Mallet is because of the slow that is put onto the enemies, making it easier to hit and follow enemy champions that try to run away but the Madred's Bloodrazor allows Varus to deal more than enough damage to enemy champions.
