Master Yi is a great AP Carry, but I like to play him with AD builds. This is mainly for fun, but the item build shown for this guide is my favorite by far ( if you can afford it). This is mainly because of the ability to finish off champion after champion due to your huge life steal and insane attack speed. If you think about it, attack speed, life steal, and damage all together will heal you in no time. This way, if you were to 1v1 an enemy, then you would kill no contest. You would be able to sustain through the whole fight basically not even losing health ( especially with your ult on). Also, your 'wuju style' can be used to further increase your life steal. This build can be used in fun matches and can also be used to go in 1v3-4.

Master Yi's 'q' ability is alpha strike. It can be used to harass the heck out of opponents and can also be used to catch up to fleeing enemy champions ( usually you use your ult for this). A great way to harass enemies out is to target alpha strike on the enemy minion closest to you. That way, you will bounce off every other enemy minion and return to the minion that you targeted with alpha strike. Always max alpha strike first because it is a great damage dealer.

Meditate is Master Yi's 'w' ability which heals him an amount over 5 seconds. This is great whenever your in need of health. However, the downside of this build is that it is all AD. Meditate scales off of AP, but I think that AD is a better fit if you want this build to work because AP doesn't help Master Yi in any way except in his 'w' which is only useful in early game and his 'q' which doesn't need extra damage if you build AD. This spell also gives you the option of not needing a support that heals like Soraka, Sona, or Alistar. This way, you can have a game changing support such as Blitzcrank.

Wuju style is Master Yi's 'e' ability which passively gives Master Yi permanent extra damage. Actively, it makes you deal even more damage for a bit. This is great for 1v1's and has great potential when paired with life steal. Also, Master Yi's ult pairs up great with his 'e'. With a bit more damage to hand out, you will probably be winning exchanges. Also, you won't need as much potions due to the fact that Master Yi can win exchanges and also heal himself.

Highlander is Master Yi's ultimate ability. It grants massive movement speed and attack speed. Also, a great thing about it is that while you have the buffs of his ult on, if you kill someone, then all your cooldowns are refreshed including your ult. If you grab an assist in your buffed form, your ability'r cooldowns halved. This means that after you have comboed and killed an enemy, then you can combo and kill another. This is a great advantage in team fights for you.

Ki strike is Master Yi's passive. It can be used for harassment and also for taking turrets. Every 7 auto-attacks, the next basic attack will attack twice. The second attack of this passive will apply on hit affects and also can crit. This can also be used on turrets.
