Not Updated For Current Season
The masteries shown here are not yet updated for the current season, the guide author needs to set up the new masteries. As such, they will be different than the masteries you see in-game.
Hi guys. I made this build to show, how to jungle with Yorick and, more or less, own in game, get successful ganks and generally win games. Yorick is amazing champion but you have to know how to use him (yes I know most of champs are like this:P). I hope this will be the key to success of your playing as him.
Jungling video, and more describtions coming soon.
Pros / Cons
- good teamfight player
- good at ganks
- amazing 1vs1
- A bit squishy
- Has to be played right
- If his blue get's stealed he is screwed.
My runepage for Yorick consists of attack speed seals, glyphs, quintessences and armor penetration marks. It suites my playstyle but feel free to change them into HP quinths(for example). Everything depends on your playstyle. Althrough it is not In-depth guide, I maybe will make it, if this guide will be good.
I use offense tree, for better smite, armor pen for Yoricks standard attacks, attack speed(see runes), magic penetration for his spells and some utility tree as every jungle should, taking improved duration of monster buffs, exp and regen for mana and HP.
Your passive grants minions you summon 30% of HP and attack damage. It makes you want to buy AD and HP items.
Omen of War give you 100% of your damage added to your next basic attack and summons Spectral ghule which gives you 15% movement speed on lvl 1 while he is alive.
Omen of Pestilence is summoning ghoul, dealing damage in a certain area and slowing opponents near it.
Omen of Famine which summons a ghoul, which heals Yorick for damage it deals.
Omen of Death summons a ghost of your allie with some % of it's HP and DMG. If allie dies on which the spell was cast he is revived for 15 seconds to make his "redemption"
My skill sequence is, as you can see at the top, maxing ult first, then Q, the E and W on end. Generally, you need your amazing Q, which gives 100% of damage your champ has and adding it to next attack spawning minion.
I prefer to take DMG first, then E which is lifesteal and slow(W) on end. It suits my gameplay but feel free to change W and E with places if you prefer slow first than lifesteal.
Ignite - you will need it for ganks and to kill blue minion at beginning.
Smite - Needed to jungle.
Exhaust - you can take it, if it suits you, and for slow, but I prefer ignite for DMG.
Clarity - not needed for Yorick as long as you go for Manamune.
Teleport - not that good, you can use it to farm but still, not that helpful
Fortify - Meh, youre not a support or tank
Cleanse - dont need it you have your amazing ult.
Revive - cmon dont joke me
Ghost - not really needed when you have your Q
Clairvoyance - Nope youre not a support
Heal - again wrong, you dont need it, you got your E
Flash - a "*****" spell as I like to call it. You can take it as long as you can manage to get blue without ignite( try it on custom without anyone leashing it for you first, I guarantee you, you won't).
Items. Why fortitude? Thanks to it, you can can jungle a lot faster and easier than with any other item. It gives you just enough HP and AD to get blue minion on lvl 1. Then I like to go for boots of swiftness, which give you best ability to gank so far, which is speed. Thanks to it, your Q will give you enormous amounths of movement speed. Then Manamune starting with tear of godess, which will grant you mana, which u will need for ganks and spells. And you can get AD from it so it's double help. Afterwards I like to get sunfire cape for Health for you and your minions, which will give you better survivability. Then Bloodthirster which will give you even more AD and lifesteal, adding it to your E. Most games will end in this place, but you can go for frozen mallet later for slow and DMG and HP. As ending item u can grab whatever you need, banshee, ghostblade if you need armor pen or madreds bloodrazors, helping you kill tanks easily.
Creeping / Jungling
So you start on blue. One main thing when playing as Yorick is that you HAVE TO have blue, otherwise you are screwed(in the early lvls). You can ask someone to leash it, but u can still manage to do it without it. Use your Smite, immidietly after ignite, autoattack and press Q. Remember to use your elixir of fortitude before starting and use fisrt from 6 pots u have, as fast as you start to take dmg. You should use your Q as much times as u need it.
When you kill blue, proceed to wolfs starting a new pot. Wait until it will be half, lvl up your E, and use both your spells on big wolf. Use them few times more on small ones. Then use another pot.
Remember to be above 400HP or you will get killed by wraths. Go to wraths with 400HP or more and use both spells on big one. Finish small ones using your spells again, then use another pot( if you havent used it while fighting wraths) go to golems, use another pot and kill them using spells.
DONT USE YOUR SMITE AFTER BLUE, you will not need it. you will be lvl 4 now, and you should have your Q lvld twice and on lvl 4 get W. You can back now for shoes and get red and gank, you can gank immidietly or steal enemy camps.
When farming as Yorick, cast your E and Q on ranged minions and your W (ONLY if there are no enemy champs around, remember not to farm too much with it) and keep hiting them with your autoattacks.
When you 1vs1 with Yorick or just taking out a carry in teamfight, put your spells on enemy in the following sequence
You can also cast ult on yourself.
When you are in a teamfight, casting your ultimate on tank or carry might be a good idea. Remember to inform your teammates about your plan, so if they die they can have thier small "redemption".
That's all for now, thank you for reading this guide I hope you enjoyd playing Yorick.
