This guide is just something i scraped up quickly. It's not done but what's in it is more than enough to play an average elo ranked game with.

Yorick is one of the best toplane champions in the game. Just remember to grab your tear fast and stay alive untill you have it.

Pros:

Sustainable as f*ck!
Stacks with ad, have low cooldowns AND lifesteal making him OP 1v1.
Has both a slow and speedbost spell.
Can lifesteal on range.
Can summon a 6th teammate to win teamfights easy.
When dived, can ult himself to ensure a kill.


Cons:

Needs to go into melee range to get his speedbost, making him "hard" to chase with.
Ultimate often gets wasted and is easily dodged in an 1v1 senario.
Lacks a high damage spell.
Needs mana items to sustain with lifesteal longterm.

Yorick is the champion you want to pick when you face a fighter top, for instance Warwick or Gangplank. This guide's masteries and runes are mostly focused on snowballing you and having it easier to zone out the enemy champion on your lane. Arcane Knowledge increases your range damage instead of your melee and q. Therefore, this is best used against another melee champ, so you can own them completely. Don't be afraid to dive when they have low health (unless its Warwick, he'll just ult u and you're dead) since you do have your lifesteal and slow. Think of it as using e for long range damage, w for slowing them to be able to catch up with your e or q, and your q for doing HEAVY damage. When you have all your ghouls up you should be able to 1v1 anyone, spaming your q and e for damage and "immortality".

Ignite Best to pick agains lifesteal champions on top. Makes it much easier to 1v1 them. Also, if you get an ignite in along with all your ghouls a kill is easily secured.



Ghost Even tho you have a speedboost ability, ghost is handy if you wanna chase down a low-health enemy with your autoattacks.



Clarity Might seem like a good idea, but when you play Yorick, you dont buy hp pots, you buy mana. Also, it's completely useless when you have a stacked tear lategame.

Warmog's Armor If you really need to be more tanky, buy this instead of frozen malet or frozen heart.

Bloodthirster This item is really fun to buy many of when playing Yorick. You can almost be a wannabe Tryndamere!

Trinity Force This item is something tasty for your q. Use it against melee champs to win trades.
