Introduction
Yorick is an interesting champion, and with the recent buffs/changes he has become a viable use again. While his damage hasn't been adjusted many of the important things have, like mana consumption and range on his slow. With this he has become a pretty good option for all of you out there.
Why did I pick these runes??
Well, armor pen seems obvious to me. As for the armor seals I feel that it is self explanatory as well. But the glpyhs, mana regen is very important for yorick. But, with this build/guide you only need a couple because you round out the rest with 5 magic resist.
The quints are kind of the jack of all trade quints and are useful for everyone.

Very important here
YOU MUST HAVE THIS ITEM!!!!! Let me repeat, YOU MUST HAVE
!!!! Yorick is one of the easiest champions to kite, even with his aoe ranged slow. So, with Frozen Mallet you can compensate for the cooldown on his skill by keeping the enemy close by. Let's also not forget that the health component of the item is absolutely incredible. There are only a few items that provides more health. You'll ask why this instead of Tri Force, the answer is simple you need to know that there is going to be a slow. Sure it gives you more damage and speed, but you need
no exceptions.
Now, the boots are self obvious magic resist and the tenacity helps so much.
The single most important item in the game, why is this so important? If your asking this question then stop playing league. It doesn't matter if you are an AD carry or a hard tank, BV is so key to any characters survival that it should probably cost somewhere around 10k gold to make. Sure, the magic resist isn't as good as a FoN and the health and mana aren't as good as the RoA you could make, but the shield more then makes up for both of these problems. That is why it is so important, a shield that once every 45 seconds blocks any incoming negative effect spell. That is so key to winning any battle it is ridiculous.
Another important item . This is such a great item that any tanky dps character without it is insane as well. The active on it is great, and helps in team fights to the point where it is almost overpowered.
This item helps to increase damage and round out some durability.
The sixth item in this build could be one of any number of things. One you could finish the Philosopher's Stone and make it into the . However, I would recommend one of 3 items instead;
if you feel that you need more damage I have to recommend this item.
An item that increases your durability is always nice, and an AoE damage component isn't too bad either.
This is the item that I would recommend last, for obvious reasons. If you need more magic resist because their AP carry is just wrecking your team then get this item, enough said.

Preferably you should go to the top lane, especially if both teams have junglers or just theirs. This is where you should focus on harassing the other laners and try to keep them from getting gold and experience. Also focus on last hitting, that should go without having to be said though. This is also the time where you should be getting your Philosopher's Stone, tier one boots, and a
. If you have time also get your Phage.
This is where the blue buff is all too important. Always try to have it up. Keep your harass going and keep farming, farm is still important. But, this is also when the team fights start to erupt. If one happens and you are in a place to help do so. But, if one is on the bottom of the map and you are at the top, don't leave your lane and think you can help. You aren't going to arrive in time. So, keep your farm, keep your harass, help in team fights, and keep blue buff in the mid game. Items to focus on here is the
and get your
. Also try to start building your Randuin's.
This is where you leave your lane and stay with the team at all times, team fights are going to decide if you win or not. Losing one team fight is a strong indication of whether or not your team is going to win. Build your Omen and get the Atma's now you know whether or not you need more armor, more magic resist, or more damage and that will tell you what item to build. This is also where you should feel like you contribute the most to team fights.
If you chose this guide as your main build. You may not have the most kills on your team, but you really shouldn't anyway. You should be feeding your AD/AP carry so that they can wreck your opponents and help win the game the way they should.
