The GIGABYTE E-Sports LAN started off with a round of single matches to determine seeding. There were two groups comprising of four teams. Each team in the two groups played one game versus each other team in the group to determine their seed. Here are the resulting seeds:

Group A

1. Team Dynamic LoL
2. Counter Logic Gaming
3. DirtNap Gaming
4. MTW NA
Group B

1. Team SoloMid
2. CLG.Black
3. Curse Gaming
4. Team Green Forest

After tournament interviews with Reginald and Dyrus

Group A’s first round of matches ended with Team Green Forest and DirtNap Gaming were knocked out with 0 wins. Next Team Dynamic was knocked out by CLG.Black with another uncontested win.

Group B’s Curse Gaming and MTW NA were knocked out in the first round. Curse gaming had 1 win but failed to secure another while MTW went out with 0 wins. Next CLG was knocked out by TSM, though CLG managed to give TSM their only loss of the entire tournament. In an interview after the event Reginald said that CLG was their biggest threat in this tournament.

The final match was CLG.Black vs. TSM. TSM won with a flawless victory, winning their first match with an early lead of 5 kills to 0. Their second match a 7-1 Chaox on Graves was also a clear victory for TSM. In the match for 3rd place CLG faced Team Dynamic. CLG won the set of matches 2-1, securing $1,000 and forcing Team Dynamic to continue on their 4th place streak.

I was sad to see the less popular teams DirtNap Gaming and Team Green Forest get eliminated so early in the tournament. However, TSM and CLG are pretty big competition so it was not a surprise. DirtNap Gaming still managed to beat CLG.Black in the seeding rounds, which is a nice accomplishment.

Due to streaming difficulties there wasn’t streams / recordings of all the games. However, you can still find a fair amount of recordings from one player’s perspective here.
