I'd recommend watching some how to's on youtube, that's how I learnt it. This series is my favourite: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VIF43-0mDk4

That aside, I can make some build ideas if you give a pricerange and what you want to do with the system.

He said he wanted to build a pc. And that video showcases it well. Also the reason why I skipped the part with all the parts.

Also what budget are we looking at? Do you have a screen and all the other peripherals? Any hardware from a previous pc that can be reused?

Pretty much unlimited budget but I care about cost efficiency so I don't want to pay out the *** for something that's only going to give a minor improvement. I don't have anything except a mouse, I've been playing on a laptop for years.

Just want something relatively high-tier for playing games without going too overboard on the price.

Also I'm incredibly dumb, easily confused/enraged and bad at putting things together so yeaaaahhh it might not be a good idea...

Don't worry about the building process too much, it is as simple as building some stuff with lego.

edit: I am throwing something together on pcpartpicker right now. Do you want a tower or something smaller?

Basically a great system for 1440p gaming, should run all games at very high/maxed out settings at that resolution. It should also run very quiet and look pretty good. The only downside would be power consumption on the graphics card, which can be solved by changing to Nvidia alternatives (I personally prefer AMD for resolutions above 1080p if you factor out power consumption)

Oh and yeah, building your PC should be very easy as long as you spend some money on a case and cooler that do not require much handwork (some ITX builds do, but this isn't one). From personal experience I know the Phanteks case is extremely easy to work and build with and that Noctua coolers have a very easy installation process.

Why liquid cooling T_T

I still can't understand why people recommend those things. Yeah the cooling performance is a bit better than air, but no water cooler can run as quiet as a solid and cheaper air cooler.

The best performing liquid cooler is the NZXT Kraken X61, which at 30 dB(A) can cool a 125W CPU down to 39.1 degrees. The Noctua NH-U14S (best air cooler) runs at 41.2 degrees, which is exactly the same as the second best liquid cooler (Thermaltake Water 3.0 Extreme).

Is that really worth the possible risk of leakage, the generally lower lifespan (air coolers only have 1 moving part; the fan. On Noctua coolers you get 6 years warranty for that fan and can replace it for 20€) and the higher price (about double, 75 vs 150€ in NL)?

For source:
Air coolers performance at 30dB(A)
Liquid coolers performance at 30, 40 and 50 dB(A)

Personally, I'm getting a Scythe Fuma for 40€ and equipping it with the best 120mm fans on the market: Noiseblocker NB-eLoop 1300RPM fans. Should be more than enough for any kind of purpose.

I think I'd rather stick with Nvidia if possible because I've always had Nvidia cards and I understand a bit more about them. I heard several people saying the GTX 970 is one of the best value cards in terms of performance for price. I don't know **** about AMD.

It's a touch more expensive than I'd been hoping, but uhh I guess that can't really be helped without making it worse and stuff. To be fair I think most of that's due to the fact that the builds I've seen haven't needed to include a monitor and keyboard.

Using pounds.

also what the **** did I just watch
