How one Legend broke the game

Draven Era just ended after a mere day of existance. Teamfight Tactic Developers had to comeback from vacation to deal with this Legend mess.

If you’ve been playing the new Teamfight Tactics: Runeterra Reforged Set, you should know already about the several amounts of changes made to the game.

But as always, in the earliest patches of a complex game such as TFT there's going to be a lot of unbalanced stuff, especially in the latter patch where players complained about the lobbies being filled with players using one legend... Twisted Fate as a legend.

In Patch 13.12, the enemy of the game has to be the Twisted Fate legend, while allowed players to get an absurd amount of exact items thanks to Pandora’s Items/Box augment taken at round 2-1, which changes the components each round, it also create toxic comps.

Garen Zeke

Juggernaut Garen, there were people running it with 6 Zeke's Herald

This Augment made it possible to create consistent comps with odd setups, From Garen 3* Juggernaut comp with six Zeke’s Herald to the more atrocious ones like Bel'Zeph.

Funnily enough, once patch 13.12 arrived with Nerfs to TF, it brought an even bigger problem that needed a hotfix immediately….

4 Cost 3 Star Lobbies all Over the Place – TFT Patch 13.13 Draven Legend

Usually, a three-star 4-cost unit is a game-winning one, that's why TFT makes it difficult to achieve. You either had tons of gold while having stable health thanks to solid play in the earlier stages, or save up for a calculated roll down that will help -with good luck- get the mighty 4 cost unit to stabilize/win the game. With the Draven Legend, this was not necessary.

As early as round 4-1, players who got an early lead with Draven Augment’s could snowball to victory when taking the augment Rolling for Days, especially the Prismatic one, which gives several free rolls for easy look-ups.

Draven Augment

The main culprit

High Elo players quickly pick up on this after the buffs in patch 13.13. At the beginning it was people experimenting, but once people understood its power it wasn’t strange to spot lobbies with 8 players with Draven.

Uproar on Socials

If you were winning with Draven it felt good, but be on the receiving end and... you simply cannot play the game. There were several complaints on the League subreddit, and even popular content creators talked about how broken Draven was(Even make guides).

And after people find out that this patch was going to be a 3-week cycle, the threats and attacks to the Dev team scaled up significantly.

B-Patch - Hotfix for Draven

The attacks were so strong that the Teamfight Tactics Dev team returned from their holidays just to deal with the mess. On June 19th, Riot Mortdog announced that the Dev team was preparing a hotfix patch with Nerfs.

Another Legend dominated after the hotfix...

Jumping up to the present, Ezreal just got nerfed in another round of hotfix changes after dominating the entirety of the B patch (in a lesser degree). This was due the item and gold advantage given by his 2-1 augment, granting players with good items too much tempo in the early stages.

Ezreal Augment

Ezreal's early augment was too strong

Changes in the 13.13C Hotfix also brought nerfs to the OP 4 cost unit Kai'Sa. As of right now, players are already innovating again and there's still issues with a new legend. If you want to guess, it looks like a dragon.

As always, we are going to give an update on those Odd comps that for sure are going to rise in the upcoming days or the best-performing legends.
