Your favorite 1v9 rodent of League of Legends is back! If Twitch was already a powerful pick, he's way more OP with this new setup in LoL patch 13.12.
If you are not living under a rock, you would know about the Trinity Force fever with Twitch. Heck, even pros like TH Jackspetra, XL Patrik and C9 Berserker are already playing it.
In case you didn't know, right now this build has a 55,43% Win rate in Platinum+, although in a smaller sample size (for now). So before it gets utterly nerfed in upcoming patches, there's still a chance to jump on the bandwagon and get that extra LP for the last few days of the season.
Why Trinity Force on Twitch?
Despite not being specifically an ADC item, since the buffs in League of Legends Patch 13.10, Trinity Force has been nuts on most ADCs and the Plague Rat is no exception.

While Twitch can miss the extra damage on his most common build, what Trinity Force provides in stats is too good to pass up.
- The extra 300 health allows for more aggressive plays (especially great in this heavy damage meta).
- The added mobility from Trinity's passive is good for Ambush (Q) ganks and the Damage boost with Empowered attacks from Trinity Force's passive along with the stacks, is great for getting pickoffs (even better if you use PTA as your main key rune)
This is without taking into account the synergies with the other items like Blade of the Ruined King, and the possibility to build Bruiser items to be even more tanky. Making it an all-around flexible build path.
The Trinity Force Twitch Build
There are currently two optimal rune setups and builds. Let's start with the most popular.
1. Blade of the Ruined King (BoTRK) - Trinity Force with Lethal Tempo
This first build consists of getting Blade of the Ruined King as the first item, and your main keystone is Lethal Tempo. After getting BoTRK, you want to transition to a second/third Trinity Force purchase.
Even with Trinity Force being OP, Twitch needs BoTRK as a first item. This is due to how the aspd, lifesteal, and Siphon (Unique Passive) slow are crucial for the Plague Rat in terms of sustain and not relying on its Spray and Pray (R) to sneak up on targets.
After your first item, you need to decide to prioritize between rushing Runaan's Hurricane or Trinity Force. If you are having a good game, Trinity Force helps you to snowball. Another case to prioritize Trinity Force is when you need survivability.
But, when you are behind or don't need much safety, opting for the cheaper Runaan's is best.
These runes are great with Twitch. Once you stack Lethal Tempo, the extra range with Spray and Pray with the added ASPD makes you a Teamfight machine. The secondaries are for snowball potential and extra sustain.
Regarding the rest of items it would depend from game to game, Titanic Hydra is great to play a tankier Twitch, for more damage, you can go for Kraken Slayer. Extra survivability? Guardian Angel. Shred Tanks? Lord Dominik's Regards. Magic Resistance and DPS? Wit's End, and so on.
2. Blade of the Ruined King (BoTRK) - Trinity Force with Press the Attack
This setup has the highest win rate, around 57,83%. And you can argue is the strongest, although it rewards more an assassin playstyle.
Regarding items to build, it's the same as the previous section, one thing to point out is starting with Cull. The extra gold Cull gives, does help to get your item power spikes earlier. But beware, your early is weaker.
One extra tip, good duos that are great with Twitch are Yuumi, Milio, and Thresh (to Snowball).
How to Play Trinity Force Twitch? - League of Legends Patch 13.12
Like most Twitch gameplay, you need to be safe on the very early levels until you have your items. Remember that you are a hyper carry that's also an assassin, if you have that in mind, playing Twitch would be 10x times easier.

Now in using specifically Trinity Force with the rodent, there are key differences in the gameplay. Trinity Force has more upfront burst, due to the empowered attack, your Ambush (Q) engages are more powerful, sounds repetitive to tell you the same, but it's really broken.
This build comes with a drawback though, you have less DPS compared to Guinsoo's Rageblade (the most popular build).
Cons of Playing Trinity Force Twitch
But like everything in League of Legends, there are CONS to each build.
- Costly build, Guinsoo's build is cheaper.
- Plays differently. For an old time Twitch player, it can be hard to adjust to this play style.
- You deal less damage in prolonged team fights. Guinsoo's is better for those cases.
So in order to play properly Trinity Twitch, you need to play to your strengths. So go 1v1 people and survive everything.
