League of Legends (LoL) Question: AD Carry mid?

    AD Carry mid?

I know I've been asking a lot of (Possibly silly) questions, but I don't think this one's been touched yet.

With the way the meta is currently, you know, the whole "AP being optional" thing.

Would it be feasible or even viable to put a second AD carry at mid lane, depending on the comp?

Obviously I'm thinking the really snowbally ones, or ones with high mobility like Vayne and Graves.

I believe AD carry mid was one of the ways to counter Kassadin in s2.

    IIRC, ADCs at mid lane:
    1) Unsafe. Prone to ganks
    2) Provide less presence in lane than AP carries do early / mid game
    3) Push slower than AP carries
    4) Weaker range zoning

    and probably many more :/

In the actual meta, you will see an AP caster in the mid lane.

The fact is, AP Casters deals damage with their abilities : they need exp to up their abilities to deal more damage. Mid lane is ideal for them, as said by Berserk, because they are solo in lane and they can roam easily in any lane.

AD Carry don't scales with xp but with items : bot lane provides as gold as mid lane, and the opportunity to have some kills to scales harder than your opponent. It's the harder lane to gank by the way, since a smart support will help you by warding. A duo AD Carry - Support can also control the Drake, which is the priority in early.

In mid lane, you have the same gold, but with less security, less chances to have kills, and you play against an AP Caster with, by definition, a high burst, so he can depop you.

Maybe, it's possible to take an AD Carry mid, but you will need an AP Top to have magic damages, a jungler with a strong early to gives you kills. Your AD Carry should have mobility. Graves (tanky, mobility), Ezreal (hard harass, mobility), Caitlyn (high range), hybrid Varus (so strong early) are for me the best options.

By the way, i consider that having 2 AD Carry in the same team, it's not clearly good : what's the compo in the bot lane so ?

    By the way,

Who the **** said aps are optional? Oh, your team as 4 AD, brb, getting 300 armor.

Just ran into a team with 4 AD + Zac. I was tanking as Singed. I think "brb, getting 300 armor" is appropriate. Other team had Black Cleaver, didn't help. Last Whisper and Black Cleaver help, but 300 armor + Black Cleaver + Last Whisper is still 60% damage reduction. So yeah.

A full ad team comp was viable in the begging of this season due to black cleaver

Don't most people just get Black Cleaver and Last Whisper then? lol

I use sivir mid if I play an ADC mid as her spell shield is actually strong vs APs who have a core initiation spell.Corki works too. ADC mid used to be "The thing" but mid is the best place for those who scale with level as the most xp is generated there. Typically ADCs scale with items so its not ideal.

AFAIK, ADC mids didn't work last Season because AP Carries countered them.

And from what I've seen in S3, bruiser/AD Caster mids completely wreck them even harder in lane, and are natural counters in teamfights.

And all they really have to do in lane is start Cloth Armor and rush Warden's Mail, then ignore you and farm or roam. Or if it's Pantheon on Talon, build Cleaver and instantly kill you.

Vayne or Ezreal are probably the best ones because of their kits (true damage and ability to disengage/kite), but then that's an extremely limited roster.

Your late game going to be super strong though, but that's irrelevant if you can't even get there.
