AP Amumu or Tanky Amumu or Something Else?

So is going pretty strong at the moment. In S2, he was a strong tanky jungler. So what is it in S3? I've seen it played both full tanky and AP.

Is there particular itemizations that are effective? My Platinum friend has been running a Double Doran's + + item set and I was just curious.

AP or Tank and why?

I used to be a fan of Spectral Wraith and Rylai's unless heavy AD team where you need Sunfire. But I changed my opinion on Ancient golem & Sunfire if you are not really ahaed. Than you can try to go for more AP. SLowing cry pool with Rylai's....

Tank, perhaps combined with some AP items like or . is core after .

I feel like is sub-optimal because it makes you quite squishy early game.

I like to go tanky (blue fist into sunfires + mobiliy boots generally) but if the game is going well or has gone on long enough sometimes I pick up an abyssal or something like that. I tried playing with full AP but the damage isn't mind-blowing and generally the jungler ends up being the tank in the team sooo I decided not to bother with full AP Amumu too much. Of course if you have an AD mid and someone else to fill up the tank role it's pretty cool.

Not to mention 's base damage via and maxing is actually very potent mid game.

is even less useful when you consider that most of amumu's damage is aoe, making the spell vamp pretty worthless. Would say is an all around better option.
