League of Legends (LoL) Question: Infinity Edge on Shaco

    Infinity Edge on Shaco

    Hey,

For me it seems like building Infinity Edge on Shaco has a unique drawback, concerning the ability "Deceive".

Usually critical strikes doubles your autoattack's damage, while Infinity Edge boosts this damage up to 250% of your attack damage. The problem with Shaco's "Deceive" is that this ability grants you a 2.2 damage multiplier at max rank, so your first aa deals 220% damage.
Infinity Edge would increase this damage only by 30% extra damage, instead of 50%. So might it be a wise idea to build a 2nd crit item and some tank items as well to get of some aa's in a fight to benefit more from Infinity Edge?
In my opinion Shaco's first aa is the one that counts to burst your opponent down.

I'm thankful for any thoughts shared, Kyusho

I believe (based on my knowledge of crit damage and Infinity Edge) that IE would increase Shaco's Deceive-empowered crit from 220% AD to 270% AD, since IE's bonus is described as increasing crit damage by 50%. If this is the case, you aren't losing anything by going IE, in terms of efficiency.

That said, It's not necessarily the highest priority item for Shaco since it's super expensive and you generally want to snowball and end the game quickly. You could still build IE if you're swimming in gold though, if you're building a PD or shiv as well, since you'll need more than that first Deceive-crit to kill someone anyway.

Oh yes, my bad there, I just read it wrong because usually it increases to 250% damage. I just checked it and it seems to always add 50% crit damage.
On Shaco you can have up to 335.51% crit damage via items and runes (http://leagueoflegends.wikia.com/wiki/Critical_strike). Thx for clearing things up!

Depends where you go. As Shaco jungle, I want to make sure that lategame, once I Deceive into five people, my target will die before having time to react. For this reason I take Triforce ( Sheen proc + crit), Statikk Shiv (extra burst with passive and more crit), Infinity Edge (even more flat ad), Ravenous Hydra (more damage and I can use active to cancel AA animation for a second AA), boots and Warrior jungler item or mortal reminder.

If you got this full build, an ADC/APC (or even a few bruisers or supports) can only really survive with limited options. Your Q-AA, Hydra Active, AA, Ignite, E should delete nearly anyone.

Yes this build should definitely oneshot the carry ^^ ... I'd rather build one or two defensive items to add some survivability but thats just my personal preference in terms of items.

I don't play Shaco alot like I used to, but IE with Statikk will for sure kill squishy champions within 3 hits, Q+AA+E smite if necessary. As you guys said, IE isnt a priority but if you want to snowball early game then build it. An example of my build in the picture of my recent game. It's a lost though.

pretty badass! I personally prefer to build Shaco more tanky (at least in ranked), even though full ad Shaco is so much fun :P

Generally with an IE shaco build you'd probably get a Trinity Force & Static Shiv to make full use of their burst potential, after that armor penetration and AD is needed to really destroy people. Generally though IE isn't as good on Shaco for the reason you gave, and because on hit effects are usually supreme since the first hit is what counts.

Statikk Shiv's passive lightning does crit, but I wonder about adding IE into it; maybe if it does works, then it could be the main reason why Yasuo's core build are that
