I didn't know that such silly thing as trigger warnings deserves discussion and is actually taken seriously in some places.
Oh but it does deserve discussion. With a negative angle of course. It needs to be acknowledged and discouraged because of the way it has crept into all sorts of places.

I really feel that depends. The way more and more people are expecting warnings for more and more things is getting ridiculous, but there are times when trigger warnings are reasonable and should be used. There's a healthy medium somewhere and we're overshooting it entirely.

Can we have some examples?
This thread needs more sexiness.

Perhaps in situations where legitimate triggers might actually cause a problem for a person (this is not trigger warnings about racism in books I'm referring to here)? Sorry, but if someone wants to make a video totally unrelated to a sensitive, possibly triggering topic (rape is a good example of a possibly triggering topic that people are willing to make jokes about) and suddenly start making jokes/comments about said sensitive topic I don't see any reason someone can't ask them to put trigger warnings if they're gonna do that again. Plenty of people have legitimate issues with things. If someone is triggered by blood and a youtuber they watch randomly decides to pretend to cut themselves in an unrelated video and get blood everywhere as a joke (a channel on youtube that I'm subscribed to actually had this happen after they pretended to cut themselves in a DIY video), they have every right to ask for a trigger warning because it was completely unexpected and could cause them to panic. Or how about the large amount of videos discussing eating disorders? Many people who have eating disorders are triggered by weight numbers, it's reasonable to ask for a warning if weight numbers are going to be discussed. Yes, we're taking it too far, but there are cases where requests for trigger warnings are entirely legitimate.
Change is gooooood
