Omg it is so amazing to see that a diamond player supports nunu cus my brother says that when i get to high elo i wouldnt be able to do that anymore. He also said no good players use stoneborn pact (which i have used before i seen this build) and was also nice to see Nunu can use soneborn pact and that i didnt noob on that idea. This build helped me a lot becuase it fits my play style perfectly althogh i changed my second mastery branch to ferocity instead of cunning cus sorcery and expose weakness is way better (in my oponion) for this play style.

Hey, just notifying you:
Nunu has no healing nor shielding for other allies in his kit.
Ardent Censer and Athene's Unholy Grail has been put in the build with the reasoning that they ' improve the healing and buff allies '. However that would be invalid for Nunu and thus would not be wise to pick up as Nunu especially if you pick them for improvement in ' healing ' and ' shielding '.

It's because of Stoneborn Pact , it works with Ardent/Redemption etc

That is if you basic attack the enemy, which you will not be able to pull off in a unfavourable match-up. That being said, even if you auto attack them, an ally still has to hit him/her which a really poor healing in Early/Mid game before you have Ardent.
Still I have yet to play enough games to conclude that. Can anyone confirm it?

Hey,

Your guide doesn't seem to legit. I am not sure if you are actually playing Nunu & Willump support in ranked games. If you do, please upload some gameplays so that we will be sure that this build is actually working and has the potential of winning your game.
The guide itself is good. You could use more the BBcode and less down the number of situational items. Or if you think that they are important, write down more about them. Not just 1-2 sentences.

This is a nice guide, however my take on Nunu support is quite different. It's all about making your ADC enter godmode. You don't need AP at all, you just need hp and armor/mr to survive and provide heals/shields/buffs for your team. No items like ROA are needed.

Go something like this:
FotM, Sightstone, Mobies, Ardent Censer, Locket, Knight's Vow. Alternatively use EotE and another tank item like FH or Redemption.

No problem m8. Like I said, this is just a suggestion which works really well. And like I said, you can leave out RoA. The other items I mentioned are going in the same kind of direction that you indicated. Just tank and annoying the enemies. Like those items that reduce enemy's attack speed.

Hey Critical Smite EUW,

Thank you for this awesome guide for Nunu & Willump. Its so useful and helpful. I see you have spent a lot of time to create it. But I have one question. Is it better to change Rod of Ages with Rylai's Crystal Scepter? Because I think this will be better for Nunu & Willump suppor. Anyway thanks again.

Hi ScdoWn,

I think I understand why you would want to replace Rod of Ages with Rylai's Crystal Scepter. With the nerf on Rylai's Crystal Scepter a couple of patches ago, the item was enhanced for supports: reducing the total cost, as well as the stats it gave. While Mid Laners may want to buy other items instead of Rylai's Crystal Scepter now, Supports like Zyra, Brand or Lux (to name a few) do profit a lot from the item. It still grants a lot of HP and AP, but the slow was also reduced to 20% for 1s on every spell.
(But Rod of Ages was changed too, quite a while ago, similar to how Rylai's Crystal Scepter was changed.)

But let's compare Rod of Ages with Rylai's Crystal Scepter:

-> Cost: 2700g
+ 60 Ability Power
+ 300 Health
+ 300 Mana
+ Passive: TL;DR: Grants mana for taking damage from champions; Restores HP for spending mana.

-> Cost: 2600g
+ 75 AP
+ 300 HP
+ Passive: TL;DR: Damaging abilities slow enemy's movement speed by 20% for 1 second.

And now I can try to explain why Rod of Ages would work better, maybe not on all Supports, but on Nunu:

First of all, the 100g difference in cost can be ignored, it's not really that much. What's more important is, that while Rod of Ages isn't that great initially, it is a super item later (after the 10minutes stacking time):
Rylai's grants the same amount of HP (300), but a little bit more AP (+15) in the beginning. It does not grant Mana though (which you kind of need to poke in lane, and for longer fights later in the game)!
And that's the point. After a couple of minutes, Rod of Ages already grants better stats than Rylai's Crystal Scepter and after 10 minutes: 100 AP (25 more AP than Rylai's Crystal Scepter -> abilities are more effective), 500 HP (200 more HP than Rylai's Crystal Scepter -> Stoneborn Pact scales better, the more HP you have) and 500 Mana ( Rylai's Crystal Scepter gives no mana!).
Also: the Passive ( Eternity) from Rod of Ages makes more sense on Nunu:
Nunu already has a slow on his E- Ice Blast, which slows for 2 seconds already, making the slow from Rylai's Crystal Scepter rather unnecessary. Nunu also doesn't have another damaging ability (The Ult would have to complete the channel first -> enemies can easily run out), so Rylai's Crystal Scepter would basically only "buff" Nunu's E- Ice Blast.

So that's why Rod of Ages makes more sense on Nunu. More HP, 500 Mana and more AP (after stacking) make it more reliable for teamfights and poking.
Since you max Nunu's E- Ice Blast first, the slow already scales up to 60% at level 5 on the ability, which is already enough to catch most enemies.

Sorry for the long answer, I just wanted to make sure I can explain my point of view reasonably.

You can offcourse buy Rylai's Crystal Scepter for fun, or if the game is going really good and it wouldn't matter, this explanation here does not mean that I think it is a bad item; it is in fact still very good, but in comparison, Rod of Ages beats Rylai's Crystal Scepter in my opinion.

I hope you understood what I wanted to say. If you have any other questions/comments/remarks please just ask me :)

Regards,
-CS
