Leona is a good baiter, offtank and can easily lock down an enemy carry and chase down squishes. However, she's lacking in damage and despite her lore I really don't see how I can protect my allies. I mean Lee Sin does a better job at that and I can't do groupies as well as Alistar. Still, you keep neglecting her passive not to mention how well her abilities synergise with other champions. While I do think they should buff her base damage a little, I think she's a great champion overall.

Shes great. She covers ground easily and stuns and slows without being blocked because you can determine how far it goes and it goes all the way to the furthest target which can easily be made as the target of the skillshot.
If someone is chasing the ad carry, w-e-q. OMg they can't move and they are about to get wooped.
Get some magic pen on her and also I like to get support item like a Randuin's Omen or a Shurelia's Reverie.
She does tank nicely but I think you have balance cooldown reduction and magic penetration on her so she hit's harder and isn't ignorable.
She's almost better than amumu if it wasn't for the fact that his ult is like 1/3 larger and is all stun rather than stun and slow. Her ult stun is still pretty reliable tho because the radius for stun is pretty large.

I was totally underwelmed and disappointed with Leona....so yea...when I want a female tank...I'll be playing Kayle.
Leona deals no significant damage, her CC isn't that great, and she doesn't have amazing base stats to make up for it....You have to rush tank items on her, or she just gets shredded.
While Kayle's CC is not as good, she does still deal decent damage when built as a tank and she has the good base stats to be tanky early without a lot of items. The remake made tank Kayle more viable, her passive works really well with items like a sunfire cape or a thornmail and the changes to her speed boost (xD) and reckoning also help a lot.

I played her, liked her, but she is definitely not high priority in the tank lists. I was hoping for low damage not non existent damage. Her CDs are too long, her stun has such a short duration, and her farming sucks, her shield is the only plus, but it doesn't aid in making her someone you'd want to avoid. As well, her passive needs non idiot teammates to benefit you...
What Leona is, is a ~3 second stunbot after level 6. If she gets the Zenith Blade off on a carry with her AD carry nearby, it's almost a guaranteed kill if she places the ult during the travel time.
