DuffTime, just curious cuz I like most of your builds, what is your "better" build for bot lane sion?

And is there a video if dyrus's ap sion anywhere, so I could see his gameplay?

Bot lane Sion? I would never run Sion bot lane.

Solo top. Always, imo. If I can't get a solo with Sion, I'm playing a different champion.

There's a lot of good items on Sion, you just want to be tanky and have good crit, however you plan to do that.

All the items he listed are potentially good for Sion, I just don't think that combination was very good.

Buying a PD and a Frozen mallet isn't really necessary as well, Sion has plenty of attack speed to keep Triforce's proc active, so you might as well simply buy Triforce instead of PD and mallet. Again, this is not because of the sheen procs, it's because of move speed, crit, ad, AS, HP and slowing procs all in ONE package.

An ideal Sion build might look like; Trinity Force, Gaurdian Angel, Force of Nature, Atma's Impaler, Infinity Edge.

OR something like that. It's an expensive build but it's easily attained, and strong at all points of the game as long as you make sure to get 300 CS or so.

I only had Frozen Mallet because I thought you need the hp from it.

But well, if you don't need it, just buy Trinity Force instead.^^

BTW: The combination of Phantom Dancer and Trinity Force means fun^^.

Oh no, Sion doesn't need much HP because of his E's passive, you just need to farm TONS of minions :) building some HP is fine, but 4k HP is more than enough, at that point it's better to get resistances. Since you'll find plenty of HP in simply farming, it's best to buy big expensive resistance and damage items, since Sion benefits from farm more than most champions do either way.

Yeah, and actually some games I do buy the PD- As I mentioned your items were not bad it's just that particular combo wasn't the most effective one for Sion. For Sion in particular, PD and TF isn't necessary, since PD offers move speed, crit, and attack speed. The most ideal MS items for Sion are TF and FoN. For crit, Atma's, TF, and I.E. And since your ult gives so much AS, the PD won't be missed.

PD and TF is a fun combo, but Sion only needs the TF :)

Example; Dyrus on AP Sion in the recent tournament built literally no HP items, and had 3.5k health just from his passive (Maybe HP yellows? I don't claim to know.) alone.

So he built nice things like hourglass and stuff to round it off, because the resistances outscale having more HP so very heavily.

Same is true for AD Sion.

If you've got 300 CS on Sion, you should comfortably have 3k HP built in. Potentially considerably more than that. Might as well simply buy Trinity, Force of Nature, Frozen Heart or Randuin's, Atma's, GA, get those chunky resistances and well rounded damage items instead of building more of what you've already got plenty of, which is HP, attack speed, and life steal.

Basically with AD Sion's kit, Resistances, move speed, more damage, and Crit are the big things you'll wanna pick up. A slowing proc is an excellent addition, so Trinity force is almost a core item in my opinion as it gives you 3-4 of the things AD Sion really needs. I've been experimenting without buying it and it's just not as good. Better to buy it.

Also, seeing as Sion has a flexible kit, skilling order is not always set in stone. Generally speaking I would not level enrage first, it sets you up to lose early trades which sets you up to lose the lane.

I would recommend your first point being your q or w first. In this way you can begin to trade earlier. Depending on the lane, you level either W or E next. Generally against ranged or heavy harass, level W. Generally, against melee, level E.

DuffTime, just cuz I like most of your builds, what do you think is a "better" build for bot lane sion, since i wont be getting much farm? Same as for top lane, just get items slower? And when you say "build as offtank", thats like TF, atma's, etc?

Finally, is there a video of Dyrus's AP sion floating around anywhere. did some searching, couldnt fnd it.

Uhmmmm it was the most recent tournament, and I can't remember what the tourny was called... Sorry x_x

Like I said, if you want a really good cookie cutter build;

Trinity Force, Gaurdian Angel, Force of Nature, Atma's Impaler, Infinity Edge.

Keep in mind, it might not work perfectly every game if your enemy has more PHYS or more MGC DMG than the next team.

Lifesteal is good on Sion because after your ult runs out you can still kill things.

Stark's is super good and I would get it instead of PD.

IE + Stark's + CnD/Atma's + Wit's End is ossom.

Mmmmmm I really don't like those items at all for Sion.

His ult is 20 seconds long...

With the tankiness and damage in the items I suggest, you will still be very capable of killing things.

Triforce is good, but AD Sion can put his farm to better uses. I prefer to go more dps then tanky when I play, whereas you prefer to go more tanky then dps.

Just different play styles, obviously I prefer mine tho. :P

Right. Triforce is good. However, there's not many items better for AD Sion than Triforce.

Tank items make use of the amazing health steroid he inherintly has, and you only need an Infinity edge to deal quite substantial damage granted his damage steroid on E as well.

Throw in Atma's, FoN, and a GA, and bam, crazy sturdy Offtank/Tanky DPS.

I won't argue it too much, but resistances with less damage is better for Sion's kit than more damage with less resistances, because of the amazing scaling and his ability to still deal great damage without sinking too much into the damage realm.

That's the only reason I even play Sion tbh :P
