For the love of god don't use these. They are worse than Mpen in absolutely any situation.

Well in my post, i plainly said that a late game abyssal scepter or void staff would take care of the issue, and the mark choice was his to make.

I can say that if you like doing damage but still want to be fairly tanky, then look up fighters. I personally prefer Mordekaiser. However he can only be played effectively as AP, not so much as tank or hybrid anymore.

Some other fighters are Fizz, Garen, Jax, and Vladimir.

Alright, so I went on the PBE to try some of these champs and here are some quick thoughts on 3 of them.

Mordekaiser was definitely a heavy hitter. Once I got some spell vamp, I was good to go. However, until then, I felt helpless and it felt mandatory to sit by the turret until my laning buddy returned and soloing raised my blood pressure from all the stress.
Jax similar to Mordekaiser, I felt kind of helpless at first. I also kept jumping into fights I thought I could handle but I seemed to like him.
Riven on the other hand I loved from level 1 to level 18. She just seemed to flow very well, packed a punch level 1 with her Q, and dominated later with the Q + R. So I think I'm going to stick to Amumu and Cait for now to save up for Riven and then buy better AD runes for her and Cait.

Thanks for all the help guys :)

Yeah Riven has one of the best early game trades in the game, and if you can get some early kills, you can snowball out of control. Good choice :)

I see you found your champion! GJ man :)
I read this whole topic now and to give you some ideas about each role here are my suggestions:

1. Mid lane
- Ryze: Ryze is the mage you should get if you want to be a carry who can dish out CRAZY DAMAGE and still be tanky because all of his items gives him extra survivability. This is because he scales mostly of Mana and not AP like most mid casters. Definitely worth a try for you I think because you like tanky champions who deal quite a lot of damage! Also I think he is THE champion to learn smartcasting!
- Mordekaiser: As already been said, Mordekaiser is the next pick for a tanky mid champion. He relies on HP/AP items like Rylai's Crystal Scepter. Also he is one of the best farmers in the game which is really nice to buy your items really fast!

2. Top lane
- Lee Sin: The blind monk is tanky, has nice sustain in lane and has some nice utility spells which can deal a lot of damage in combination with auto-attacks. Definitely worth a try and is on top of that one of the best junglers in the game!
- Udyr: The animal spirit is a hard one to master because of his lack of an ultimate but he makes up for that with his 4 stances. But if you learn to play him, he is very effective. He can deal some crazy damage in a short time and still be tanky because of his Iron Mantle

3. Bottom lane
- Graves: I think Graves is the tankiest AD carry in the game right now (unless you count Urgot as an AD carry). In combination with a support who can heal he is a god in bottom lane and on top of that he can farm very easily with his Buckshot! Definitely worth a try but he is quite expensive to buy (6300 IP)
- Tristana: This one might seem odd because she is not a tanky char. But she is a really effective carry! She has a nice escape mechanism with her Rocket Jump, a HP debuff Explosive Shot and a very nice AS steroid with Rapid Fire. So you get a champion who is not really tanky (rather talk about squishy!) but with some very nice utility! Also her passive gives her more range on her AA's after reaching her next level. This champion is, by far, the best champion to learn how to act like an AD-carry: in the back and dishing out A LOT OF DAMAGE!

4. Support
- Alistar: you like tanky champions so I think Alistar is the best support which you can get! Crazy CC abilities and a very nice ultimate which make you even more tankier. Also the [Triumphant Roar]] gives a nice heal to your carry which is always nice!
- Leona: the tanky maiden with a lot of CC! Extremely tanky when she has build a few items but with such a crazy amount of CC which is not imaginable :O Very nice champion to learn and to help your AD-carry in bottom lane!

5. Jungle
- Shyvana: Shyvana is one of the strongest junglers in the game but with some good farm and some kills during the early-game, can build really tanky (think of Warmog's Armor > Atma's Impaler > Force of Nature) while still dealing crazy amounts of damage! Really worth a try :)
- Udyr: Again Udyr you might think? Yes, because Udyr in the jungle is just as devastating as in lane! Very nice clearing speeds and nice gankability by using his Blazing Stampede to stun the enemy. Doesn't require a lot of items to be tanky because of his Iron Mantle!

Hope you had some ideas for your champions now ;)
