Almost the way how I play support anivia, except for a few things. Marks = hybrid pen, seals = armor, glyphs = mres or ap per lvl depending on who's running bot, quints = flat ap.

I don't know why people don't think RoA on support Anivia is viable. Please try playing it and decide which one is better. Anivia is one of those champions who guzzles up mana and having athene's holy grail alone won't do. You can try going for the mid style of Seraph's Embrace and athene's holy grail along with Warmog's Armor but that leaves you with little room for other AP items since you have Sightstone and (insert gold item here). The best option is Rod of Ages since it gives mana, hp and ap.

For itemization, spellthief, 2 red pots, ward and warding trinket. First back, I either get my catalyst or sightstone depending if I poke heavily or not (usually go catalyst first then build sightstone after). I then generally finish my RoA, get boots + chalice next then proceed in building whatever needs to be built, usually damage.

I don't understand why Anivia support is getting a lot of hate. I play her mid a lot and with my last couple of games as support, she definitely is a beast. Heavily zoning the other marksman out, punishing him if he plays carelessly and being a CC intensive support with the damage to boot (scary late game) she's a viable and very fun pick. Another con I can think of is you'll usually get the kills for yourself, but that's another story.

+1 for your guide. I think this is the only decent support Anivia build here.

The runes aren't just questionable, they are outright wrong.

Skilling is also incorrect.

And RoA shouldn't be there.

This isn't a valid support Anivia guide.
If you get rid of the masteries and runes this is just an Anivia mid build in the bot lane.
Not even a gold production item?

wait those runes are solid?

Nah, its not as solid as your gem, Taric
As emoriam said, Rod of Ages shouldn't be bought that late and, it is even an item on supports? maybe catatlyst is yes, but you should sell it after you no longer needed it, like Haunting Guise.

Thank you for this guide! I have been looking for a solid support Anivia guide since 2010!

you mean that the concept of support anivia is not questionable? i really feel that community has become slightly more flexible at these subjects. When I first signed up the response to this was like "anivia support, -1"(no offense and no implies). To the point, there is no coding either.
