INTRODUCTION
In this guide I'll be talking about how to play . My name is Vodka and I main the support role. One of my mains are: Sona, Lux (in mid lane, I play her as support in normal games) and Leona. I hope you have fun with this guide and it will be useful to you.DISCLAIMER I am not a perfect player and if you find any mistakes please let me know and don't be toxic. :)

I've been playing league for over 6 years now but only recently decided to play it a bit more seriously. On that note if you ever want to play together you can always DM me and we can play a few matches.

Leona is one of my favorites supports ever because of how annoying and tanky she is with her stuns and builds. Also love her role, her character design and everything about her and that is why I decided to pick her up for the first time.

Leona compared to some other supports isn't that hard to learn but I'll cover some tricks I use and try to provide some tricks as well. I hope you enjoy my build and leave a rating and/or a comment.

PROS & CONS

PROS

→ very tanky
→ pretty long range
→ can engage through minions
→ can engage through walls
→ hard CC




CONS

→ pretty slow in beginning
→ dependent on her combos
→ not much damage
→ low mobility
→ spells/items can block stun

ABILITIES
PASSIVE ABILITY
SUNLIGHT
✦ Damaging spells afflict enemies with Sunlight for 1.5 seconds. When allied champions deal damage to those targets, they consume the Sunlight to deal additional magic damage.
✦ This is a nice little passive that will help you and your teammates to deal extra magic damage to your enemies.
Q
SHIELD OF DAYBREAK
✦ Leona uses her shield to perform her next basic attack, dealing bonus magic damage and stunning the target.
✦ This skill is probably the ability you'll be using the most since its a game changer especially in early game. Be aware that your stun can be cancelled by some items/spells in the game.
W
ECLIPSE
✦ Leona raises her shield to gain damage reduction, armor, and magic resist. When the duration first ends, if there are nearby enemies, she will deal magic damage to them and prolong the duration of the effect.
✦ This ability is very useful since it provides some extra damage for you and your allies.
E
ZENITH BLADE
✦ Leona projects a solar image of her sword, dealing magic damage to all enemies in a line. When the image fades, the last enemy champion struck will be briefly immobilized and Leona will dash to them.
✦ This is one of the combos Leona can do E>Q, you dash in front of them and instantly stun them. It is very useful and you should always be the first one to engage since it all depends on you.
R
SOLAR FLARE
✦ Leona calls down a beam of solar energy, dealing damage to enemies in an area. Enemies in the center of the area are stunned, while enemies on the outside are slowed
✦ I really love this ultimate. If you manage to place it well you can win a teamfight or get some easy kills for your ADC. More about it in Tips and Tricks.
SPELLS

SUMMONER SPELLS
-
FLASH: Flash is the best summoner spell in the game. Everyone should use it and Leona has to as well. It is extremely useful to get away from dangerous situations.
EXHAUST: Exhaust targets an enemy champion, reducing their damage dealt by 40% and slows them by 30% for 2.5 seconds. This can help your ADC to catch an enemy that is running away or eliminate some of the damage the enemy does. It is a useful spell for any support but I prefer to use Ignite on Leona but it is up to you.
IGNITE: Ignite is the best option for me personally, targeting an enemy champion, dealing 70-410 true damage (depending on champion level) over 5 seconds and applying Grievous Wounds to them for the duration.

RUNES
AFTERSHOCK ★ This rune provides tankiness and bonus damage which is all Leona needs, you can deal some extra damage and run away from dodgy situations.

FONT OF LIFE ★ This rune helps you win 2v2 easily.

SECOND WIND ★ This rune helps you heal back after being in combat, which is very important for Leona.

OVERGROWTH ★ Provides heavy CC and provides more HP to help Leona get her tankiness.

NOTES:

Then after you take Adaptive Force, Tenacity and Slow Resist and Shield to provide yourself some more defense and magic resist. You don't need extra HP because of your future items and the way Leona herself was built so don't worry about that.

Leona is a great support that is very fun to play and I wanted to share my love for her with everyone. I am very sorry but for now this guide is extremely short but very soon I will add more stuff to this guide. Be on the look for the items and laning phases updates also tips and tricks for playing her. :)

NOTES:

Leona is the type of champion that a lot of people who love tankiness and stuns would enjoy playing. She stuns literally anyone who tries to come after her, running away from her is impossible and minions/walls aren't a problem for her! Hopefully this guide will make you want to pick up Leona!
