Champion Build Guide

[11.17] NEW Lethality Sion/Inting Sion

By Pafferfash
Why this build works
So today I was watching thebausffs and I saw the potential of titanic hydra on a lethality sion. titanic hydra works extremely well with sion's w passive, thus giving a **** ton of AD for lethality builds. Also, two of lehtality sion's main items, hullbreaker and youmuu's ghostblade, are getting MASSIVE buffs next patch, but more on that in future chapters. Lethality sion has always been a favorite of thebausffs, but this build will take that to a whole new level
Summoner spells
Thebausffs has started taking smite on sion, since he often goes and steals the enemy's jg camps. This allows for better skirmishes in the jg, since smite gives percentage health healing. However, this is just an option; you don't have to take smite if you don't want and take flash instead. TP is a MUST. You can take any other summoner, just take tp as your second. TP is so important to sion, as you can splitpush really really well, and TP will allow you to splitpush even better, while also ensuring you don't get too far behind in levels if you go like 0/10.
Runes
Runes are different from standard lethality sion runes, but hear me out. Glacial augment is pretty good on sion. It's like phase rush except it slows enemies instead of buffing you, and it doesn't need 3 autos to proc. Also, future's market and boots both synergize pretty well with sion, but the bread and butter is the approach velocity. All of sion's abilities except w have a slow and movement impair, meaning you'll be able to chase down enemies really quickly. Even in passive, once you proc glacial, approach velocity will proc and you'll get extra move speed towards that target, which is super op. Of course, you'll need demolish to kill towers and overgrowth for a little extra health, but you could replace overgrowth with something like revitalize, bone plating, or second wind.
Hullbreaker
Hullbreaker is already an op item, even though riot doesn't think so. At level 1, you're getting over 20 armor and mr, and that's insane. As long as you're splitpushing, you get INSANE gold efficiency on the item, and it's getting buffed next patch. Abuse this item when you can on this build before it gets nerfed, and especially because sion is the uncontested king of splitpushing.
Prowler's Claw
This item is obviously a no-brainer. You want to go lethality sion? Take prowler's. Your passive does a ton of damage with it, and the item can also act as a gap-close to assassinate enemies in passive. Pretty simple. Also, if you have a negative kda after hull, build prowler's first for easier assassination in passive. If you have a positive kda after hull, build titanic first because you'll die less often and you won't need the prowlers active.
Titanic Hydra
Alright. Rarely do I see lethality sion players build titanic with lethality, but hear me out. Sion's passive gives a LOT of health, as long as you have decent cs. Also, this item synergizes with itself anyways, as well as hullbreaker, giving you a lot of bonus AD. You should have about 50 bonus ad from the passive alone in 20 minutes, which gives the item 80 total bonus ad. INSANE gold efficiency. It also gives 500 health, which is a lot and will let you be even tankier.
Boots
Boots choice honestly depends. If they are heavy AD, go armor boots. If they have a lot of cc or are heavy AP, go mercs. It's that simple. Of course, if they don't have a lot of cc or have mixed damage, go lucidity boots or swiftness boots.
Youmuu's
As you may know, youmuu's is getting a HUGE buff next patch. before, it was just more costly serpent's fang. But now that it has 19 lethality AND 15 ability haste, that is absolutely insane for an item that costs only 2900 gold. INSANE gold efficiency, and sion will need that lethaliy, as well as its move speed passive. The AD and ability haste is a nice touch as well. Technically you don't have to go youmuu's, but it's a gold efficient item and I recommend it.
Last items
So for your 5th and 6th item you really have a lot of choices. Mostly it's situational, but if there isn't really a situation then just buy youmuu's then something like a seryldas. You could also go a tank item if they're really burst, but chances are, you'll have enough health from titanic hydra and hullbreaker and w passive to at least tank a little bit before you let loose with your own burst.
Playstyle
Like any standard inting sion, you'll be looking to get as much cs as possible. TP if you die and there's a huge wave pushing towards you, try to look for sidelane tps during laning phase. It doesn't matter if you die like 10 times. As long as you get your hullbreaker, you're set. Item order goes something like hullbreaker, boots, prowlers, titanic, etc. Just try to do as much damage to the tower as you can, and after laning phase, go into a sidelane and farm and splitpush. If the enemy engages you, you either run with ult if there's a lot of them, or if there's only 1 or 2, you win most of the time, even if you're 0/10. I speak from personal experience when I say that you will win almost EVERY 1v1 if you have ult and play it right. By splitpushing, you're making the enemy team commit at least 2 people to try and stop you, which allows the rest of your team to push for other lanes or objectives. So don't worry if you die a lot, because the enemy will only be getting like 100 gold from you at some point, yet you'll still be doing tons of damage in 1v1s and taking their towers.
